Well, some of my fears of NBC bringing Constantine to the small screen are allayed.
1: Matt Ryan looks, sounds and acts, by that I mean has John's snarky attitude, to a "T."
2: Neil Marshall, the man behind Dog Soldiers, Descent, Doomsday, Centurion, and the Blackwater battle episode of Game of Thrones, directed the pilot. Some of his movies have been better than others but his films have always entertained.
3: The show is using the Ravenscar story arc. This is the one that put John into the asylum after an exorcism of his went completely pear-shaped and condemned an innocent child to Hell.
4: Humor, of the gallows variety.

Think NBC will let John smoke? Would set up one of the series' best story lines: Dangerous Habits.
