Well, I'm officially on the hype train. As soon as the first track broke off into its limping offbeat section, (hearkening back to the original Ifukube soundtrack in its own weird way) I was hooked, listened to it all the way through and it occurs to me just how MASSIVE this score sounds. Everything's so plodding and huge, just the atmosphere I want from Godzilla 2014, I couldn't be more hyped for this. Thanks very much for this upload!

And everyone will have their own opinion of this score. Desplat's masterpiece still remains the lovely CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON and his other work is quiet and sensitive... usually using only the full orchestra on occasion. He is all wrong for this kind of film and the music reflects that. Did not find anything special. Some exotic sounds, but then Zimmer and his followers have been using those Japanese drums for some time now. Lots of sawing back and forth with the string section... but little movement. Maybe it will work in the film. Not scary music. Loud, yes.

SOOOooo I saw the film...sort of. A cam version. I needed to know if venturing forth into public was worth it. I think it may be. The score works on screen and is actually kinda growing on me after a few listens. I think the album is too short. There is, as always, a lopsided amount of missing stuff. Also, that trailer music DOES play during the Halo jump. I am not sure if it is the whole trailer version, but a version does play....

Muto Hatch and Back to the Ocean work amazing within the film. They stand out to me the most.
