These are old (1978), but well-known Hayao Miyazaki series, loosely based on Alexander Hill Key's novel The Incredible Tide. The series contain several central protagonists, who pass on their traits to the characters in the later Miyazaki works, among other - Nausica� and Laputa, Castle in the Sky.

I dedicate this encode to everyone affected by the earthquake, tsunami and the subsequent man-induced nuclear disaster in Japan in spring 2011. It is eerie how prophetic this series seems to be, having it all, what Japan experiences nowadays and being set in 2008-2028. Let us hope that the optimist ending of the series turns out to be prophetic as well.

Despite warnings from scientists that the earth's axis would be twisted, two big nations engage in a magnetic war. Earthquakes and tidal waves destroy civilization.

20 years after the catastrophe, a handful of children and other survivors manage to live on earth.

Among the survivors are those who were responsible for the destruction. Some struggle to survive on the old technology, while a handful set out to conquer what is left of the world. Conan and his friends fight against such evil forces using their super powers of telepathy, strength, endurance and friendship.
