Janis Ivanovs (1906-1983) is a soviet Latvian composer with an idiom that developed closer to Miaskovsky and Prokofiev (Symphony 8 and Piano concerto), with elements of modernity (Honegger and Shostakovich in Symphony 10), neo-romantism and sonority (in Symphony 20). CD1 - from Bohuslav, Cd2 - from me. Enjoy!
