Hello all.
Long time ago when megaupload existed, I uploaded what I have dubbed "Film Music Highlights" of both BATMAN BEGINS and THE DARK KNIGHT, which were sort of reverse-isolated scores. I say reversed because typically a score is edited to fit the film it was composed for, while I edit the film to fit the unedited music score.
I've been making these things off and on since 2005, and I used to mail them to people in the past. The two Dark Knight films were only of two times I uploaded any of my sequences outside of YouTube (which doesn't work because of endless "Content Matches" copyright restrictions, and I've decided to do the same for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, given that it seems a lot of people have not seen the film but heard the score, or haven't heard / seen either one.
The only other video sequence I made that I uploaded for mass viewing was the 'War' sequence from AVATAR, to show people (mostly members of the FSM board...they call it 'score restore') the original intended score for that awesome battle sequence from the film....I've since re-made it in 1080p HD and might upload it again.
Essentially what I make are video soundtrack albums. I take soundtracks, put them back into their films without effects or dialogue (unless I find it makes for an interesting or comedic effect) and make individual segments which restores the original intention of the music and you can basically watch the film with the score narrating the story, like a silent film.
I've done quite a number of these over the years, though some have been lost to hard drive failure or lost DVDs. I actually made this in November 2012 but lost the files when my old laptop died, and re-made these in January of this year.
While these AMAZING SPIDER-MAN sequences are in standard definition since I used the DVD, I'm going back and remaking some sequences for films in HD using Blu-rays, and this will eventually be one of them.
Here it is, the complete score as heard in the film, along with a couple of alternate cues. I previewed this in the "Deluxe Edition" (Thread 171369) thread where I edited a montage for the full opening titles (I HATED how that great title theme was omitted from the opening of the film) and now here is the whole presentation.
If you love the score, or might have a curiosity about how the score works in the film without actually having to watch the film in the traditional sense, then you will probably enjoy these sequences.
Here's a YouTube video I uploaded a while back on the scoring of the film, taken from the Blu-ray:
