About this release:Revolution Software finally went through their archives and resurrected this magnificent score. Back in 1997, the original game has been shipped with 22kHz mono music files, the Remastered edition used OGG files, that weren't much better in terms of quality. Some files have been upraded to stereo, others have been left untouched.
BS1 has been released in a Director's Cut version for the Wii and the format they used there had the best quality there is from the score, even though they removed a bunch of the cues and added some synth stuff Barrington composed for the DC. However, BS2 never got the same treatment.
So, for the first time we get selected cues from the score in lossless quality. There were almost 500 cues in the game (close to 3.5 hours of music) and only a fraction is featured here, but at least we get some unreleased stuff like cutscene music. And it's lossless ;)
