This is another one of the childhood films I'd always wanted to see. It did not disappoint. The plot is pure Friday the 13th but the killer is so awesome, I just love the mask. The soundtrack has to rank among the best of my rips. The main chase themes are just so primal sounding and it makes your heart pump!! The movie is great, the soundtrack is incredible. A MUST WATCH!

I don't really rely on IMDB ratings, especially when it comes to horror. There's high rated junk and low rated gems.

I don't rely much on imdb ratings either. In this case the flic is highly overrated ;-)

It should be higher due to the soundtrack alone!

User Review from imdb:

Bloody murder? Bloody Hell, more like!

30 April 2002 | by DeVip (Scotland) See all my reviews

Before people keep using throw-away comments like "THIS IS THE WORST MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN" on film reviews, they should try sitting through garbage like this. I've seen some utter incomprehensible, no-redeeming-quality trash in my time (sigh), and Bloody Murder adds to the pile. It isn't the worst movie i've ever seen (but then, like I said...), hoewever, this is bad. Very bad. Bad acting, direction, editing, continuity, FX, script, music, imagination, everything-in-the-world. Aaaargh! Watching this film was like being flayed ...and then having needles scraped across my bones. Watching this film was like being paid a visit by the dentist from the marathon man ...and then being thrown a well-done steak to chew on. Watching this film was like being born without skin ...and having to bathe painfully every morning in lemon juice. You get my point?

After having read this devastating review, at least I wanted to listen to your kind upload, for I couldn't believe, a movie or a score could be THAT bad.
Well, my beliefs were disabused. One of the very few soundtracks within the past ten years, which I rather see in the "round file" than on my extensive external HD soundtrack collection. Sorry, but there isn't much more than uninspired two finger keyboard-strokes with sound-ambiences like monotone crickets in the background (to distract from the poor musical qualities?)

I also do understand now, why this flic never has been released in most parts of Europe, not even on VHS or DVD.
Only suicidal producers would release this kind of crap, for which they never even could return the expenses for a cheap synchronisation.

I have to listen to a lot of Bernard Herrmann, Franz Waxman, Henry Mancini, Ennio Morricone, Gianni Ferrio, Martin Bttcher, Peter Thomas, John Barry, Georges Delerue, Woijtech Kilar, John Williams, Angelo Badalamenti, Max Steiner, Nino Rota and so on scores now, in order to prevent my organism from getting EAR CANCER.

Well, apparently, there are people who appreciate this so kindly stop dissing this.
