My favorite Hitchcock film,my favorite Herrmann score and I think the M-G-M Studio Orchestra was never better than when they recorded this score. As good as it gets for me.

Out of curiosity, why are you still sharing the old Rhino album when the new Intrada release is so much better?
I have the Intrada release,MP3 @320 and with 28 total tracks,but I'm not convinced it is "better". This Rhino release is in FLAC and has 50 tracks,probably as close to the completed score as we will ever get. It sounds fantastic and is plenty good enough for me.

Edit: I've listened to both versions this evening and both seem highly comparable as to sound quality and total time of the score. The liner notes from the Intrada version state the 1995 Rhino version suffered some deterioration of certain cues and the Intrada version did a digital re-transfer from the 35mm masters in 1999,but also state they also used some of the 1995 transfers in their updated version as well. I'd say pick your poison,either version very good and it's nice to have a choice. Thanks again to Daniel for providing me with another option.
