What's the battle system that frustrated you the most?

For me, it the the Junction system in FFVIII. I don't know why they had to make it where you had to remember so much and put so much into your brain. I got used to it after three games. My friend didn't like the materia system in FFVII.

Ooh, how I wish I could agree with you and say the Junction System. But, alas...

I absolutely hated the Materia System. Almost every materia you earn depletes your HP when you equip it, but it also grants you more abilities. So, it's a double-edged sword really. You may be able to defeat your enemies with more ease, but they can also do the same to you.

Also, the fact that you can no longer physically attack once you earn your limit break, until you use it, is pretty stupid.

I do see where you're coming from about the deduction of HP, but I do at least remember physically attack once I learn my limit.

Wot?

They didn't really frustrate me as they're all pretty easy to use once you get the hang of them.
But VII Limit Break system was poo.

I liked that one better than FFVIII. I didn't like the fact that you had to have you HP low in order to use them. I thought that was making it difficult.

In FFVII, you could heal your characters and still be able to use your limit. That's making it less difficult.

I found IX's the most frustrating, but my least favorite is VII's 'cause crap.

I actually found FFIX one of the easiest systems because it was like the older FF's, very simple to understand.

The only game with a system similar at all to IX's was TA, and that isn't old. o.O

I didn't like using the second weapon I got in the game halfway through it to learn the ability =\

No..... I was talking about FFVI; you just simply select an ability to learn, and go through battles and learn it without that refining, all these things to remember crap. I thought the system in FFIX was just as easy to learn in FFVI. That's what I was talking about ;). FFV was very easy to learn too. I haven't played FF-FFIV yet.

easy to learn, yes, but you didn't have to gimp yourself in VI to learn abilities like you do in IX =\

I didn't like the Junction system in FF-VIII that much. Ok, the idea of it wasn't that bad, but sometimes the drawing took so long. :(

I know alot of people don't like the system in FFX because they didn't like the fact that it took so long to get around it. I for one though didn't mind that part of it. I only didn't mind the grid system because it's not as complicated to learn as some people say it is.

Yeah, I didn't like VII's either.

Materia was so easy- it didn't really take much work or figuring out, and your characters were complete wimps without it.

And the limit break system was indeed poo.

That was how I felt about the Gaurdian Forces; if you didn't have enough GF's, you're characters were peanuts; that's what happened to me on my first game, because I didn't know where to get all of them without the strategy guide at the time. I was alittle more challenged at the time too before I developed on my common snense more. I'm better at the system now.

I didn't like FFVIII's Junction system

Mainly cuz I power up too easy. After the first time around I overpowered to the fact that the game was no longer a challange. Even at the start I could just overpower everything.

In the end only Ultima and Omega weapon were a challange.

Hated FFIX's trance system. I would get a trance in a battle the enemy would die before i could use it. Worthless.

I actually think IX's was the worst, and I like IX. It was the least involving out of all of them, and there weren't really enough abilities to be learned. It was pretty solid, at least.

I thought VII's was alright, but I can't say I remember it in much detail.

I didn't Like VIIs Battle System,

I hated how you had to use your limit if you wanted to attack

And the Materia was really confusing for me, the only person who could use alot of slots for Materia where I am (still haven't beaten it) was Arieth, and she Dies anyway :(

But yeah so I go with VII, VIIIs very close though
