I must admit that I have yet to see this one. But considering how much I like the score for the first one, I'd sure like to give this one a try, if you'd be kind enough to send me the link.

Much like "Lone Ranger", the standout cue on this album is a 10 minute+ train sequence written by one of the orchestrators on the film. Only this one is uncredited...

Either way, I'd LOVE a link, as this is one of my favorite scores!

People still buy into that unproven, unsubstantiated, unverified except by so-called 'credible sources' that have never been named crap rumor ?

Must be a slow day here.

Though since your name begins with "harry", you must be the source of that rumor way back when.

I hardly think I was the source, but I certainly buy into the "rumor". Everyone's free to believe it or not. I doubt there will ever be an official confirmation on the matter...

Either way, I'd LOVE a link, as this is one of my favorite scores!

since both Zorro scores are 5-Star scores in my eyes or rather ears i have to say that "The Train" is not in any way like "The Lone Ranger" because that score was except for two cues just mediocre...
i'll send you the link in a few seconds and once you get it you should crank up your speakers or headphones and let "her" rip ;)
THIS IS JAMES HORNER AT HIS BEST!
i would have loved to hear him score "The Amazing Spider-Man 2"... such a shame BUT now Zimmer's ghost-writers get the chance to shine once again but i'm more than sure that this score is going to be a 90's synth-garbage-festival :S

as for the rumor i have to admit that i've never heard about that before but i'm certainly gonna read up on that.

Yes, of course you're right. Both Zorro scores are head and shoulders above ANYTHING in Zimmer's Lone Ranger. It's just funny that both scores feature a lengthy train sequence that has a standout action cue written under curious circumstances.

As for Zorro, they're some of my favorite scores too. Can't wait for the links! Really wish Horner could've continued his work from the first Amazing Spiderman into this next one...

I don't need a link. I already own the physical album. I just wanted to say that I agree 110% with you. James Horner clearly had a ball arranging and writing the themes for this sequel score. I thoroughly enjoy hearing his full, complex orchestrations over Hans Zimmer's piling of synths and loops.
I, too, am obsessed with "The Train" cue. I love to start my workouts with this music. Intense, passionate, and fun - who can deny that The Legend of Zorro is phenomenal, instant classic. IMHO, James Horner keeps getting better with age. For instance, Spiderwick Chronicles "The Flight of the Griffin" and "A Desperate Run Through the Tunnels" or his work on Avatar with cues like "Jake's First Flight" and "War". Wonderful, engaging music that never gets old.
Thank you for your thoughts. Helps me know I'm not alone in my passion for awesome, authentic film music!

I have listened to every available James Horner score and my money's on the fact that Horner wrote "The Train" cue. Now, to say there aren't references to John William's 2000s Star Wars scores would be incorrect. I can clearly hear the chopping, concise rhythms that were so prominent within William's later work.
