Agreed! Disappointed, aswell. :( The solos...really didn't capture me as other GG songs did. C'Mon, Daisuke, you can do much better than this. I'd have to give this Game's Soundtrack...Maybe an 6 out of 10. It's average, IMHO. Some parts remind me of BB, others, like GG. It doesn't really sound like BlazBlue to me, but it's super disappointing that they didn't just remix the old Guilty Gear themes. Besides maybe Potemkin's new theme, none of these new compositions hold a candle to the originals.

But maybe I'm a biased asshole, since I really like Bedman and the Dragon Install theme. :P

Well, it's Hard Rock and it's Daisuke Ishiwatari, for me that's already good enough.
Anyway, Sol's new theme reminds me of the original Keep Yourself Alive from The Missing Link in its feel, and I thought Ky's new theme was actually pretty damn good.
Also, Axl's new theme started off with what's pretty much March of the Wicked King's intro, and I-No's new theme had a nod to Kagematsuri in it, I think. Are there any other nods to older themes?

Oh, and some tracks seem to have wrong start/end points, anyone want to fix that?

Lol. About Chipp... well, I fall in love with GG because of "suck a sage", so I admit that Chipp's new theme shocked me. And I'm not saying that Slayer's theme is bad, but it's just... I dunno, maybe I'm still not used to them. Just gimme some time, ok? XD

Overall, IMHO this soundtrack is great. Maybe it is not Ishiwatari-san's magnum opus, but still great.

This is pretty sick stuff. Real throwback to The Missing Link days before Ishiwatari started getting more progressive (Axl's theme actually reminds me of his original "March of the Wicked King"). Lovin' it.

Have not downloaded the soundtrack, but looking at track lists on youtube, I wonder if this is complete? I am pretty sure while watching some match vids, on the final round with Ky on Ky's stage, the music changed to a violin version of Holy Orders, but I'm not seeing that on youtube. Wondered if everyone had their old theme in some form like that.

I'm baffled at all the people who think this is similar to BB's style. It's even heavier than previous GG songs.

Are the modern instruments throwing people off? Have you people tried listening to GG Overture's music? Because this quality all started from there.

Heavier bases and meh solos. I still prefer the raw sound of the first games.

I've been listening to this for a couple of days, and the more i listen the more this sound different from blazblue. It actually feels like GG, but not the exact same way as the past guilty gear soundtracks.

Some songs are kind of meh, but i would not say the whole bso is bad.

I used to think the same thing about BB when it first came out.. but the more I played BB the more I realized "its going to sound super close" The same Guy worked on the tracks after all..so then I chilled about it, I think its the Story and characters in the end that Distinguish one from the other ..Kinda How People all have heads and eye's we all Speak.. English,Japan,French,Sign Language.. but we all Think,Act,Feel..ect Differently and in the end that makes us Different and Cool (: so Yea I felt that way too but it might just be his creative style as a musician has changed and that change might be what were hearing in his music of late.

This is amazing. After the disappointment of a soundtrack that is Chronophantasma, Daisuke managed to pull out another one. Though I actually also prefer this a bit more to the older GG tracks (except for Zato-1 vs. Millia)

Let me correct my earlier statement. I freakin LOVE Slayer's new theme. I don't know, I might like it better than Haven't You Got Eyes In Your Head and that was already perfection. That aside I think my second favorite is Millia's new theme. Overall it's a solid listen and most of the soundtrack is just as good as I've come to expect from Mr. Ishiwatari. Definite buy.

Actually, all of his work is comparable at the same time it isn't. You just have to listen to notice the similarities and differences between all of the soundtracks. Equipment changes are the most obvious differences between soundtracks, but there's also a certain flare as well that can be picked out, though it can be hard to explain and mostly ends up in a jumble of "just see for yourself".

Thank you for the upload, effort and to Ishiwatari! This game-rip is great, and I was happy they didn't use, remix, or re-arrange the earlier music, which I like as well. Fresh game, fresh music! My god, Slayer's theme has a REAL Alto Sax, not that synth sax from the XX games, kinda like a heavier Arashi no Saxophone. Then again, I like Jazz-fusion, and progressive rock. So I can see why some people were disappointed at first.

So you'd rather keep hearing the same theme, only changed up. Trying to make something better doesn't always result in it being better. BlazBlue: Chronophantasm for example I really enjoyed some of the II tracks compared to the originals, but on the other hand some tracks just did not live up to the originals. It was a mixed bag and even though I prefer some versions to the originals I still didn't necessarily need it. Along the lines of XX and Overture, why would you want to mess with perfection?

No, the new Guilty Gear soundtrack doesn't quite stand out like XX or Oveture and may sound a bit more generic as far as Mr. Ishiwatari's work goes, but it's still solid and there are some great tracks here including Millia and Slayer's new themes for example. I for one am grateful for new material.

I like the music, it actually sounds like heavier redux cuts from GG1 than style X/XX/AC. It's like all the complaints about GG2 being too string heavy. This is how he writes his music now, can't change that. You can tell the he was going into this direction with how GG2, Get Down to Business and Launch Out came out. His choice in sound fonts seemed to have gotten more wall-y though.

These themes have been associated with some of these characters for a long time now. They're pretty much iconic...you hear Keep Yourself Alive/Holy Orders and you just feel Sol/Ky. People I know who don't even play the games have said "oh this is that song for the blonde lightning guy in guilty gear right?" I've been following this game a lot since it dropped in arcades and i still can't identify who's theme belongs to who 90% of the time. My personal opinion is that they feel rather uninspired and generic...and don't really capture the character like the old songs did (minus May theme, and to an extent slayer). I'm all for new songs if need be, i just don't think these are particularly good. When i talk to people who aren't fond of xrds ost, the issue is generally not that the songs changed...but just that they don't even halfway stack up to the older themes.

Assassins, Potemkin, Bedman, Millia VS Zato,May theme are pretty solid tracks. And like the first 10 or so seconds of Ky VS Sol. Glad Sin VS Ky overture song made it in. Elphelts sounds pretty good too.

I just feel when a character has had a theme for a while people don't take kindly to changing it. Sometimes it works well (SFEX theme for Ryu is my favorite theme for the character, Jazzy NYC is the best theme for ken imo, so it's not as if I'm opposed to themes changing).

Because they were never changed at all for the longest time. We've gone through 10 iterations and the only things that have changed was the OP, ED and new themes for additional characters. No one remembers most of the old songs from GG1. On that note, is there a request to reupload? Because I'm willing to do it and I pretty much have all the songs except for the arcade attraction theme.
