Pt. 1 of UNUSED/DEMOS/ALBUM VERSIONS OF CUES PACK COMING TOMORROW!

Note: my latest release is one of great interest to me. Recently I collected over 13 hours of Twin Peaks music material and having stumbled upon the chronological guide that I posted on another thread I couldn't resist chronologically organizing not only the music for the 2 seasons of the series but the film as well. Using the chronological episode music guide along with FIVE different sources, I was able to very closely create the most complete series music that has been released to the public in this form. Another user previously posted only 6 hours of the now available 10 and I have heard reports of users with various different sets with varying numbers of tracks and running times. Hopefully, this will get everyone on the same page. I assure you that THIS is THE Twin Peaks collection to grab. The 2 seasons worth of music contains 209 tracks running just under 9 and a half hours while the soundtrack for the movie features 48 tracks and runs just over 3 and a half hours now.

For this comprehensive release I used a combination of the original soundtrack album, the album entitled Season 2 and More, the Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me original soundtrack, the 10 hours of music available in the Twin Peaks Archives and 2 tracks from the Julee Cruise album entitled Voices of Love.

How I will be distributing this amount of material will be a bit at a time. Due to the intense amount of work it took trying to compile this release and finding some cues I was short on, I do not intend on uploading it all at once. I will begin with the complete pilot music (around 70 minutes) and will routinely upload the remaining parts of the series music along with the movie's in around the same time increments (between 60-70 minutes).

I remember catching glimpses of this show as a very young child but having not seen the complete series until just last year, I had only a small idea of what I was about to bear witness to. It is purely and simply one of America's finest fictional TV moments and also happens to be one of the most bizarre in an era ripe with rather bizarre creativity. The score that Angelo and David have constructed for this series and the movie is nothing short of a masterpiece. As a whole, it may become too much hence why I'm not uploading all tracks at once. The idea is to take you back to the early 90's when this show aired and at the time only being given one episode at a time to absorb followed by a short week-long wait. These were the pre-internet and Netflix days, before binge watching became the thing it is today. With a duo like David and Angelo, all we need is a Michael and I have no doubt in my mind that this is art of the highest form. Although there's not much doubting now. Due to how short some of the episode playlists are, I will be combining several episodes per week when appropriate. I will also be splitting the Fire Walk with Me soundtrack up into thirds. Just because the series is officially over by that point doesn't mean I will drop the episodic uploading pattern.

The music is a lovely mix of atmospheric synths, thematic melodies, big band jazz, lounge jazz, etc. Some cues on the chronological series music list are merely slowed down versions of existing tracks however the degree to which they are slowed down is a mystery to me so if it's on that chronological music series list but is not here, that means it has not been released or I can't find it. This music was taken down from the DavidLynch.com website so legally obtaining this (i.e. purchasing) is not currently an option. Slowed down versions that appear on this set were included with the set I obtained.

This music is really something quite special. It can be really chill and laid back one minute, the very essence of Americana sweeping through your ears, the next moment you're in the Red Room staring at your reflection in the mirror...but it's not you. It's something scarier. Darker, more evil.

You may find all of the Twin Peaks Archives music on the Russian site Rutracker in FLAC and MP3 but be forewarned that unless you speak Russian then you're gonna have a heck of a time when it comes to registration. The built-in optional translator in my browser (Google Chrome) decodes the page wrong so for me, even if I'm typing the Captcha in right it still says I'm not. I finally successfully registered last year but I tried to help someone else register and it's the same old bullsnit. It's a GREAT site if you can register to look around but otherwise, if you're too impatient then it's best to just wait until you can find it elsewhere.

Amazing! I was hooked on Twin Peaks from the first episode. It was unlike anything else anyone had ever seen before, not even Blue Velvet quite prepared you. I remember David Lynch saying that he had no expectation that the show would ever be renewed so when it actually was, he was completely unprepared and had nothing. So for a good part of the 2nd season's beginning, he just had fun with the actors. Then everything started to come together again and you suddenly had the strong suspicion that despite cherry pie and many mentions of the casino in Canada, the show wasn't set on Earth at all.
And the music was just perfect.
What a massive undertaking. Another labour of love boggles my imagination. Can't wait to hear more. Thanks!

In keeping with the original airing schedule, a new album will post every Thursday. The pilot aired on a Sunday so I'm a little late. I will post episodes 1 and 2 this Thursday, similar to how the first episode aired just a mere 4 days after the pilot. Since a lot of episodes have repeated material in the show (not in this set) I may end up bundling 2 or 3 episodes into one pack for some weeks due to how short some episodes' playlists are. Particularly towards the end of season 2. Each release will have detailed track lists including which album they originated from along with unreleased/missing cues that were intended to be in the set but weren't. The series chronological playlist features some source cues but I left them out. The movie soundtrack will include all of the Julee Cruise songs that were featured as they were written specifically for this universe.

For some reason "You Killed Mike" is track 198 on mine. I ignored it as the title didn't have "Night Bells" in it but I see now that the artwork attached to the track (every track has individual art) has the title "You Killed Mike/Night Bells Film Mix". It's 1:57 long.

I wonder why three tracks out of 200+ were removed?

Note about cue "You Killed Mike/Night Bells (film mix)": "There were actually two repeat tracks included in this bundle. Those who downloaded the bundle early got "Freshly Squeezed (Fast Cool Jazz Version 2 Clarinet)"- but this was mistakenly a repeat of the earlier released track "Dance Of The Dream Man (Soprano Clarinet)" (at the time of that release, the "Freshly Squeezed" name makes more sense). It was removed when realized it was a duplicate."

But I have a problem, and I have to ask if anyone encountered it lately (since about a week). Mega doesn't load for me, it stops right when the red circle is starting to show. Any ideas why, did any of you experience this?

I experienced that issue when trying to run it in normal mode on Google Chrome but ran fine on IE. For a time, I had to run Chrome's incognito mode which worked for a little while but now it's back to working normally. Mega has been quite funky this past month.

Anyone know what the story is behind the hidden track on the Season Two CD? It does sound like it belongs in the Twin Peaks world but was it ever used in the episodes, or is it demo material, or just David Lynch messing about and being strange?!

The Glenn Miller track is pretty easy to find along with some of the classical music pieces but the other tracks were either unreleased Badalamenti cues or alternate slowed-down versions of existing cues. As I mentioned in the post, the only slow versions I will include will be what's already included in the archive. I opted not to include the Glenn Miller song and classical pieces as this experiment is more geared to showcase Badalamenti's music.

What's missing in mine, can you tell? I know there were some tracks released that was pulled later for whatever reason. I'm spotty on the details.
