One of my favorite Barry's scores, a Beautiful Romantic Score, each track is a joy to listen.

Wonderful movie too, great acting, Rachel Weisz is extremely GORGEOUS in this one, I fell in love right away.

I think this was the first time that Beeban Kidron didn't worked with Portman, and I'm very glad for that.



Extract from Kidron's Liner Notes:

"I wanted a bigger sound than I knw how to express. Something that was Romantic, but that ebbed and flowed with the sea. John managed to articulate what I felt. As we sat in Abbey Road, listening to the death theme swimming around in the studio, I knew that John had graced the film with a voice even greater than the one wich I had been struggling to express"



"Joseph Conrad wrote a beautiful story depicting the love, trials and tribulations of an alienated couple living on the coast of Cornwall in the late 19th century.
Beeban Kidron tells this tale with a magnificent film.

For my part, I have the good fortune to live by the sea, and feel blessed with the inspiration that it brings. I hope that the score transports you to a place where time, like the sea, is forever"

The Love Theme is so Gorgeous, but never better than in "Night Meeting", the scene where Amy meets Yanko at the barn and she helps him, oh my God that scene and the music makes me cry like a baby every time I watch, I love the film too!
