*SPOILER ALERTS*

I don't know if you guys have seen this theory on the ending of FF8?

Basically Discs 2, 3 and 4 are all Squall's imagination, about what he would do if he could turn back time. In this theory, he dies at the end of Disc 1.

The full details are on this site, I would copy and paste it all but the guy deserves his page views for posting his entire theory on there: Squall's Dead - a theory of what really happens in Final Fantasy VIII (http://www.squallsdead.com)

The game is boring as barnacles. I'm amazed anyone could keep awake long enough to care what's going on. I wish they all died at the beginning of disc 1, especially the ditz bomb and that blue dress bint.

@JohnnyMercyside : Sounds more like the Indoctrination Theory of Mass Effect 3... Personally, I discount this theory as the game (to me) plays itself out well enough and is strong enough to stand on it's own. Honestly, people coming up with new so called 'theories' to a 15 year old game... have way too much time on their hands.

@spl4shd4m4ge : That's your opinion and while you are entitled to think that, there are others who do NOT share the same view. If you hate the game (as your post suggest that you do), then refrain from commenting in this section of the forum.

@Mogman : ... Don't know what to say to that...

Actually an Old Theory. But then again. Not many people know about it cuz it's so obscure and inconsistent IMO.

Anyway, this is my portion of the cake. I think the game could be a much better story to tell if Squall was dead, without playing the SH1 Bad Ending/Jacob's Ladder ending card.

IMO it would've been a much more interesting story, (In fact probably the best FF story to tell) if squall actually died and then Irvine pick up the pieces and be the next leading character. It was building to be that way in my eyes. The guilt of failing at the assasination taking it's toll with the death of his leader, awesome character development material.

But considering that in the previous game a main character died. Killing the Leading Character at the end of disc 1 would create much controversy and probably negative reaction because people would be pissed at the switching POV and the reuse of a resource such as the death of a character for storytelling.

But still, I stand for it. Considering how poor FFVIII storyline gets after the missile attack, I like the idea of squall dying a lot more. Although, not without merit, there are quite a few awesome memorable scenes and moments (Balamb vs Galbadia, Time Compression, just to name a few examples)

Not a new theory, it's been around for a long time. It's a pretty stupid theory imo almost as bad as the Rinoa=Ultimecia theory.

Still a lameass theory, regardless of it's new or old. Just some bullshit an idiot puts together because they're not happy with how the game plays and ends, that's all it is.

Darth Revan: I don't have to refrain from commenting just because I present an opposing opinion, mate. To be fair, I like the music. So there. I can't say I hate it 100%. Only 85%. 90% tops.

@spl4shd4m4ge Firstly, do not address me as 'mate'. You do not know me, so do not address myself in a familiar manner. Second, your initial post and while it started fine, degenerated into flaming commentary about the characters, how 'boring as barnacles' it is and your amazement at how anyone could finish it.

If all you are going to contribute is flaming diatribe towards the content of said game, then how about using better dialogue like you did in your last post.

I'm English. Get over it. I could've used a myriad choice phrases, but I'm choosing to keep things relatively civil despite your untimely PMS.

The only reason I signed up here was to inquire about the sixth volume of the series. In the meantime I've prodded about and pitched my two cents in a public forum, where anyone can post anything they'd like. I'm indeed amazed anyone could finish this game, as the battles play out in the most cumbersome, repetitive manner possible. Don't even get me started on the junction system. Slopping together a shitty lead cast that any preteen halfwit could've penned during class lecture boredom only ensures less incentive to play it out to completion.

Yes this is a public forum, however common sense dictates one must use the proper etiquette when using said forum. I've seen other posts of your 'crimes against the English language' and even your one in the FFVI section, was baseline insulting to others, yet you end with begging for help? No one will help someone who addresses others in such a crude and derogative manner as you have worded your posts.

Alright, that's enough - I'm going to close this thread as it's degenerated into flamming and trolling which I don't tolerate and hence it's point is now made. Please, play nice children!
