I'm not a child , this does not appeal to me at all lol. I'd rather see RoboCop, even though people are already trashing it

Haha this soundtrack is so bizarre! In a good way of course! Lots of material in a similar vein to CWACOM - this probably has to make up for no soundtrack to the sequel being released!

I just saw the movie last night. This movie is THE BEST animated movie of 2014. Kids AND adults will really enjoy this movie. if anyone doesn't believe me, check rotten tomatoes and imdb.

The track 'Prologue' sounds so much like yet another cue from 'Portal 2' :D

The movie is not for kids at all. not the ones of nowadays. They recur to a lot of jokes... that only we, older people can get it. The movie is for fans of lego since our childhood.
Most kids nowadays will not understand most of the jokes of the movie. If some kids have a certain level of culture, they will understand what they are talking about when pointing a random astronaut from the 70ts.

The same issue with transformers. People still point it as movie for kids only..... *so much epic facepalm* People and their stupid thinking.

I don't see a shame in watching kids film every once in a while. Transformers is a giant robot film basically geared for children and i've enjoyed it, no big fuzz really. Thanks for the share. :)

Err... Is this Sarcasm cause I can't tell. :P But making a film like this with real Lego would cost a lot of money, take years to make and even then some scenes would be impossible. Animation was the only way to make this film.

Fans have been waiting for this Dream to come true..... for ages.

When I saw the trailer, I was thinking this too. As much as I love stop motion and traditionally drawn animation more than 3D, animating real legos by hand have so much limitation. The only things I can think of right now are characters needing to put their hands behind their backs. That little bit allowed the animators for so much more gesture. But to each his own, I hope you end up watching it. It is a very enjoyable film.

I am tired of animated CGI too. I admit that. There a lot of movies, that, why not draw it??? I miss old animated drawing movies. they are so freaking rare these days.
And I miss stop motion techniques movies too. Those were what blew my ind every time I saw one.
But LEGO case... it had to be CGI. And that does not make not wanting to see it. It looks damn wonderful to watch. I can't wait to see it.

It is a shame the music doesn't have much of an identity beyond using "Everything is Awesome" as a theme. This would be fine if it wasn't such a generic theme. I struggled to detect any unique musical identity here during the film that would make me want to listen to the soundtrack.

I would also say that I am not as impressed by the film as everyone else is. Yes they put in a lot of little nuggets but the movie still felt as stupid as it looked in the trailers. I have nostalgia for Legos but it seems I don't have the stomach for parody. Sure there were a few decent laughs but for the most part the references felt forced and couldn't save the film from what was otherwise very kiddy. I was quite impressed by the twist at the end though, and it did almost save the movie from being a waste of time.

just saw the movie, definitely not made for today's kids, though they'll love it too. it was made for us, the old-timers. one of the best films i've seen in 2 years, no joke. you should totally go see it.

That's strange. I noticed a lot of themes. There's clearly themes for Emmet, Wyldstyle, Uni-Kitty, Lord Business and Batman and they all sound fairly different.

I watched the movie today and loved it. I might watch it again. I would like to add I'm 23 too. And had no problem with giving it a try at my age. Maybe it's the fact that I played with Lego when I was kid. I could feel nostalgia. I agree with some of the other posters in this thread. When I saw it today, the adults seemed to pick up on some of the jokes a lot more.
