Into the Arms of Strangers: Stories of the Kindertransport is a 2000 documentary film that tells the story of
the kindertransport, a rescue operation which saved the lives of over 10,000 Jewish children from Nazi Germany
by transporting them via train to England, where they were adopted by British families. It was directed by Mark
Jonathan Harris and narrated by Judi Dench. The documentary relies heavily on filmed interviews in which the children
of the kindertransport (now grown men and women in their 60s and 70s) recall their feelings and experiences of the
kindertransport. An overwhelming majority of American film critics responded positively to Into the Arms of Strangers
writing that it both intellectually and emotionally captures this chapter of history. The film went on to win the prestigious
Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
The Giant of Thunder Mountain is a 1991 drama film starring Richard Kiel (The Spy Who Loved Me) and Noley Thornton
(Beverley Hills, 90210). Bart the Bear also appeared in the movie. The screenplay was jointly written by Richard Kiel,
Chrystle Fiedler, and Tony Lozito. It was directed by James W. Roberson. The film was shot in Yosemite National Park and
North Fork, California. It was released in the U.S. in March 1991, and at the Cannes film market in France, in May 1991.
The films production company was American Happenings and Herklotz Enterprises. The distributors were Castle Hill
Productions and Plaza Entertainment, with special effects by FX West.
