I tried to watch the video.
A futile attempt, because my laptop seems to be not suitable.
But what I saw looked good.

btw. The german opening song is much better. :p

The video is in 1080p, not sure what your laptop runs.

My laptop has 1366 x 768 which is the reason, I think.
But that doesn't matter. I had downloaded the video just out of interest.

How did it look?.. and sound too.. I excluded the credits on the first episode.. because my intension was to continue it on to episode 2 .. which won't have intro or credits.. so it will look something like this..

Episode 1: Intro+Core , Episode 2: Core, Episode 3: Core ... all the way to Episode 39: Core+Credits.

Audio/Video quality is awesome, I havent been able to find a bluray rip of this online. Would love to see more if you decide to keep ripping these. As Always thanks for everything Vegeta

Its really good quality, with the audio which is clear and the subtitles as well. Are you doing the entire season or entire bluray series or just a few episodes?
Would it be possible to upload just the opening theme and the ending theme as separate videos.
Thanks Vegeta

Yeah it seems pretty well done Vegeta.

It has good quality video and audio.

The subtitles make an interesting contrast.

Too bad it's not the original english opening lol.

That thing was hilariously awesome.

I'm all about rocking dragons.

If your doing the whole series, then you have to remember that DBZ has 4 different opening themes and 2 ending themes. In the first season set you have 2 different opening themes, the second one is where Vegeta and Nappa are walking through a volcanic eruption or something. Would it be possible to upload these opening and ending themes separately if they are missed out when encoding the episodes?
The video quality is good, what program are you using to encode the episodes, most bluray rips are either 1.09GB or 1.45GB in size(Including opening and ending) per episode, and given that DBZ has 291 episodes it could take up a lot of disk space and higher encoding time if you go higher.
Also, would you be uploading the extras there are in the discs as well?
Thanks Vegeta

Using handbrake.. the 4 opening themes and 2 closing themes are not on this bluray.. can't help you with that. There are only 2 English opening themes.. and then the japanese opening. As far as the opening and closing themes.. the opening theme is on the first episode.. the closing theme is on the last episode of the season ( episode 39 ). I am not sure what is what with the extra's .. I haven't watched the videos or anything. The back of the case for extras says..

- Upcoming Special Feature Sneak Peek
- Textless Opening and Closing Songs
- U.S. Trailer
- Trailers

As far as the size is.. I've never seen a decent quality bluray rip at only 1.10GB in 1080p. I mean take Breaking Bad Season 2 in 1080p.. full season is 42 GB .. each episode around 3.28 .. divide that by 2 thats 1.64. Those are 40 min episodes. I said divide by 2 since DBZ is only 20 mins long. I think I'm doing fairly good so far.

I get your point. 1.5 GB is probably the right size. You said there were 2 English Opening themes in the first season, assuming that the opening on episode 1 is the first one, would it be possible to do opening 2 separately cause it gets missed out.
The opening themes are probably split over the entire collection of blurays so they'll appear sooner or later in the other boxes.
Thanks Vegeta

I must have been drunk last night.. or partially. There is only 1 English theme, and 1 Japanese theme. The 2 English choices have the same song, just different speaker output (this is the same way on the bluray). If you remember the other themes didn't show up until at least Frieza saga.. if I remember correctly, but I'm not sure if they are going to do that.

Really, oh well then, I thought it might have been there because both the level sets and the dragon boxes had the 2nd opening from either the episodes in the 20's or 30's(Not sure) and since this had it upto episode 39, it could have been there. The problem is both the 1st and the 2nd are pretty much the same except for a small 4 second sequence in the middle with nappa and vegeta walking towards you, instead of flying nimbus going across the screen from the bottom right.
Dragonball Z Opening 1 (Version 2) Japanese [Level 1.2 Blu-Ray 1080p HD] - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9RKjZi85g4)
The link above has the 2nd opening from the Level 1.2 set. Watch out for Nappa and Vegeta at 41 seconds. It was taken directly from an episode.
Anyway thanks for the first episode, looking forward to the rest of the series, keep up the good work.

37 Episodes are done so far. 2 More to go, then I can upload all of them. I won't be able to do the rest of the 291 until I get the bluray's which aren't out yet lol

It's because of the cropping. The japanese version you see original version in 4:3 .. in this is 16:9 .. and the detailed is kinda.. not stretched.. just more spread out..hard to explain really.

All 39 episodes from Season 1 are done encoding.. still currently uploading to ftp atm..

So whats the true differences to these blu-ray editions then say, the orange boxes or dragon boxes (other then the quality jump)?
