A kind of surprise that this album hasn't been posted yet in the shrine (forgive me if it was), much more knowing that there will be a remake of this classic French movie coming next year (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_COCCpWhR3Q), which in turn are both based in the novel of the same name, among many others adaptations made before and since. That said i think this may be a good time for sharing the George Auric score, before listen the music of the new movie.

For those who never heard before, Auric score is fully orchestral and in many cues the choir, accented on wordless chants, has an important part that kindly evokes a fairy tale world like a glove. At times there is a sense of otherworldly innocence that is utterly captivating, but also there are moments of eerie-mysterious music like in 'Frightful Moments' or 'Appearance of the Beast' for example, but as a whole this is an highly enjoyable score.

On a side note the upcoming movie will be composed by Pierre Adenot. I have never heard of this composer let alone if there will be an album release, so to be honest i really don't know what to expect, but hope it's good. At some point Desplat was supposedly to be the composer but, maybe for a scheduling conflict or for some other reason, has not been possible.

Enjoy and Merry Christmas to all :)
