I'm confused:
Does Cloud "end up" with Tifa? In the end they don't do anything (unlike 8 9 and 10). I wonder if it would've been different if Aeris lived... I mean, would he have lived in the sector 5 church with Aeris all his life, or would he have gone to 7th Heaven and lived with Tifa?

Cloud doesn't end up with anyone, it seems (and as far as we know, we still have FFVII AC to go through, so perhaps some questions can be answered there). Tifa never expressed her feelings, Aeris died, and so uh... yeah, no romance. I think Cloud would've ended up with Aeris if she had lived, but I'd prefer Aeris's death over romance. Aeris's death made the game that much better (and for so many reasons ;) )

Cloud is the tragic hero. It's his fate to be alone. It's terrible pain, and it's what connected gamers to him and the others in the first place.

The end of FF VII has somehow an open ending. A lot of people think, Aeris is dead, so Cloud will be with Tifa now.

But this is not true. Cloud loved Aeris, but she is dead. Why ending up with Tifa now? Only because they were childhood friends? And only, because she is trying to get him? :(

I have no idea, what they are going to do on FF AC, but it is true, that Cloud is the only one without having a happy end so far. I hope, he'll have one in AC. ;)

cloud loved Aeris, but i think something was said during game that, he lost all his loved ones. makes you go all emotional. if aeris woudda lived it wouldnt of been as powerfull as cloud was fighting for her revenge. i tihnk. i dont know

There was a constant love triangle between Cloud, Tifa & Aeris when they all met, but since Cloud & Tifa grew up together, they seem like the perfect couple. Aeris most probably fancied Cloud because he reminded her of her first boyfriend, Zack, who Cloud was cloned from. Whoops! *SPOILERS!*

I thought Cloud was a clone of SEPHIROTH injected with tons of mako! I dunno, maybe i read it wrong.

No, he was cloned from Zack. You'll understand that if you watch the special cinema clip in Nibelheim Mansion it explains about Zack and Cloud. That's why they look so alike.

If Cloud was cloned from Zack, how did he go to Nibelheim with Zack when Sephiroth discovered he was created by the Jenova project, because as you recall Cloud was in the blue Shinra uniform and was the one who killed Sephiroth, sending him into the Lifestream beneath the reactor, plus Tifas real memories were Cloud living next door but not knowing him very well, which is what led Cloud to follow Tifa through the Nibel mountains when her mother passed away, and when she fell Cloud failed to save her consequently feeling that he was not strong enough and thus left town after calling Tifa to the well to explain his decision before joining Shinra, but not as a soldier first class as he had promised,causing him to hide away when returning to Nibelheim several years later, triggering the events cover at the start of this topic.........

No. Cloud is no clone but was really a person who live in Nielbihelm and join Soldier and friends with Zack. Tifa and Cloud were never childhood friends but just grew up in the same town.
The ending is really wierd but Cloud ends up with neither. Although he ends up with neither, the story is still leaning on Cloud and Aeris and they were in other games, pointing out who Cloud ended up with. Or just figure out the Squaresoft formula that is used for couples and you still get Cloud and Aeris in that formula.

One of my biggest problems with FFVII was how Cloud's origins remained so vague. Being such an important aspect of the story, it should have been explained in much more detail. As it stands, there is no definite answer, only conjecture.

I think the game leaves you to decide whom he ends up with. I think he ends up with Tifa, but like I said, either girl is optional, and I think the game leaves you to decide what you beleive.

He did not end up with neither, end of story. If Aeris would have lived Tifa would have had to open up and tell her feelings, so too bad. It's not that simple..

Yeah, but the crushes of Tifa and Aerith are stronger and they both open up to there love alittle more than Yuffie and Barret.

Well, it doesn't really matter since I think all 3 of the girls have a little something for Cloud. I dunno about Barret...but maybe. You can date the other 3 besides Aeris, so that would mean that they do have a little thing for Cloud.

In the Game i was kind of wanting Tifa with Cloud but when aeris came into the picture it was the other way around when aeris died i figured that It would have 2 b Tifa but no nothing happened

At the end of the game, I saw the FMV with Cloud saving Tifa from the collapsing floor and she was hugging him with her eyes closed and that strange look on her face, so I would think that Tifa would go better. But Aeris seemed to love him too. If Aeris didn't die, Cloud would have a lot of trouble choosing, but Cloud is Tifa's man. It's a known fact to those who have played this game.

No, Cloud is not Tifa's man. She wanted to be with him, but he never gave her back some love. To him, she was not more than a childhood love. And there is ab big difference.

Tifa was never the question. And if Aeris was still alive, she would be with Cloud now. And I also believe, that Tifa wouldn't try anymore, because at the end of the game, she realized, Cloud loves Aeris.

And Tifa wouldn't get in between them, just to destroy their relationship. She's not that mean.

Ya, I think Aerith Gainsborough is right: Cloud loved Aeris, and not Tifa. Cuz in the ending FMV, when cloud looks up, he sees Aeris reaching own from heaven, but then it's Tifa signalling to get out of there.
