One of my bluray players plays MKV format. If I burn one of those 1080p rips that is around 7.5 GB on
A 8.5 GB DVDR will it play in the stand alone player ? I have never done that before.

I tried to burn the 7 GB 1080p Angels Egg on a 8.5 DVDR
And play it in a Panasonic stand alone bluray player
But it said " audio format not playable " and the
Picture was all screwed up and was in multicoloured
Pixelated squares.

As soon as the 4 GB 1080p rip is done I will
Try on a regular 4.7 DVDR

That was like $3.00 down the toilet.

I would suggest watching via the computer. The 1080p videos are encoded in 10-bit...That's got to be a problem with Blu-ray players.

Maybe you can try burning the 480p video to DVD (does your player read USB flash drives?). That should be upscaled nicely. Also, since it's encoded from the BD, it should look better than DVD rips.

I know it's kind of silly but I sort of get a kick out if the fact that one of my bluray players
Does in fact play MKV files. And I just hooked up my first HTIB 5.1 to the player
So I know most normal users would just watch it on a computer and I will
Do that soon but I tried buring the 7 GB 1080p and the 4 GB MKV and it
Will not play on my the stand alone player. I will see if they play on a computer
Via DVD drive. And if they don't I will throw out the discs.

I fucking love Angels Egg anyway. It's like my third or four favourite film
Of all Time. Just look here Altered Beats - cutting edge electronic sounds evolved from industrial, hardcore, jungle, hip-hop, idm and noise (http://www.aaroncampbell.org/proteus.php) OR Altered Beats - cutting edge electronic sounds evolved from industrial, hardcore, jungle, hip-hop, idm and noise (http://www.mcproteus.com/proteus.php)
So I plan on buying the real bluray and the DVD and the soundtrack at one point.
MAMORU OSHII is one of the only human beings in the world I wish was not affected
By piracy and peer to peer.

Keep these links alive please and I will put the biggest rip on
A Beast of mine with 6 GB OF ram sometime soon.

You're a good fan, Protheus. I lean more otowards the artwork and soundtrack than the film itself. Unfortunately, I don't have Glass' score.
