Here is for you the original score of A Walk With Love and Death by French composer Georges Delerue.

In his career Delerue composed a few scores to movies based on historical settings, and A Walk With Love and Death is another one of the same kind among other titles like, Anne of the Thousand Days, The Borgias or A Man for All Seasons. This always gave Delerue, as you can listen in this score, a chance to writing music in a medieval flavored style, combining orchestra and period instruments (here often played solo) like the harpsichod, the lute, a cromorne, etc.
Some tracks also has present medieval folk dances, processional choral marches, as if to evoke the musical settings of an historical era. Despite this the score has a somber tone. Although the main theme is lovely there is a sense of impending tragedy surrounding the music.

A note about the recording is that it is in mono with a pronounceable hiss, but then it is this monaural sound that somewhat gives the score a believable period atmosphere.
Aside of this album there is also a re-recording made to this score, but i've never listened as to whether know if it's a faithful re-interpretation of the original recording.

Enjoy :)
