Zippyshare.com - The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Web Site Music (Hans Zimmer - Background).mp3 (http://www31.zippyshare.com/v/80155217/file.html)

before people get skeptical Hans Zimmer himself confirmed that this is from the upcoming score, cuz someone named Hybrid Soldier on Hans-Zimmer.com (http://hans-zimmer.com) asked zimmer himself if this music is from the score and this is what he said "I asked Hans, he confirmed this is from the score! ;) Featuring Arturo Sandoval on trumpet & Johnny Marr on guitar ! Can't wait!"

and yes i have to admit i was alittle skeptical at first but after i listened to it a couple dozen times i was convinced that this is from the score, and to be honest i love where its going so far!!! sounds reminiscent of james horners theme from the first one. all in all i cannot wait for it!!!

anyways i hope you all enjoy!!!

If the rest of the score sounds half as good as this, then it will be great.

Zimmer finally got rid of the same boring synths and put something different and way better than all his superhero scores combined, but also, he does a homage to Horner's score.

Can't really judge too much on this. It's too short to really get a good feel.

I can a sure you there'll be nothing orchestral about Zimmer's score...... His score will be more in line to the trailer music he scored

Those synths are the exact same as the shite he used for Man Of Steel..... even those horrible thuds are a direct lift......

Horner's score was one of my favorite scores of 2012, and was dissapointed that he was replaced by Zimmer, and I do love Zimmer.

This new synth thing he's using, I'm digging it, just hoping this Pharrel dude doesn't screw it.

EDIT: From Hybrid in the HZ site, a quote from Zimmer: "I didn't do the trailer. I did the fanfare. It's Arturo Santoval, Johnny Marr, Andy Page and myself. ...it's just the demo mock-up. I didn't do the Trailer. Haven't even seen it."

So, I'm assuming the fanfare will sound different, even better, in the finished product :D

Hybrid in HZ did said he wrote for A trailer, not the first trailer. Maybe we'll hear his score in the second or third trailer.

Also, not Spidey related, but the music in the Interstellar trailer, premiering (is that a word) this friday with the Hobbit, does have score written by Zimmer, just like TDKR trailer.

Sometimes reading this forum I swear the initials HZ stand for "Hate Zimmer."

For me, if that snippet - and what else would you call a one min fragment - truly is Zimmer's then I like what I'm hearing.

Please, I hope this will be the score. I'm getting tired of his TDKR or MoS Style... and Horner's Spiderman was one of my fav scores of 2012. If this sample is from the score, it'df be VERY Good. I haven't listened a perfect Zimmer since 2007 At World's End!

I will be amazed when there's a Zimmer thread without useless fighting, but I guess that world hunger will be solved before that...

Also, the Series 4 of Sherlock would come out, and that's saying a lot :D

If you hate him for your own reasons, just leave! Stop making fights against those who like him, it's completely useless and moronic. Leave, enjoy your life with your favourite music and composers, and be happy, and so those who like him will be happy too.

While I am generally a fan of Zimmer's--MoS might be my favorite score of this year, but there's also plenty that he does that I dislike--I was very disheartened to hear he was hired for TASM2. Horner's score was a highlight of last year, certainly my favorite score of his for awhile now--The New World was the last score of his that really grabbed me, so it was disappointing that he didn't return. Still don't know why that's the case; did he pass on it, did Webb/Sony never approach him, was he originally going to come back but the studio went with Zimmer instead? I don't know.

The point being, this is just another in a long line of bad moves the studio has made with this franchise. It seems to me that they have no idea what to do with Spider-Man and his story, and are simply doing gimmick after gimmick in an attempt to pander and please the audience. The problem is, they are trying to appeal to multiple groups at the same time (comic fans, blockbuster film fans, critics, etc.) and are in fact pleasing no one. I really have no idea what this film will make or how it'll do critically--the first film did quite good, despite receiving mixed-to-bad reviews--but I doubt that this film will be an actual "good" movie.

As for the brief snippet--eh... I don't hate it, but is awfully cheap sounding. Reminds me of his theme for ABC News, not something for a film score. So far, Horner's theme is still better, and even that Horner's was inferior to Elfman's. It just seems like a generic hero fanfare. The 60 second running time also makes repeat listens very annoying. There's only so many times you can hear it before it starts to drive you crazy.

I want to like this score. I by no means want it to suck, even though I have not liked certain creative choices that have been made, most notably replacing Horner with Zimmer. However, I'm not expecting much. And I really don't like the "jam band" approach they're taking with this score.

Everan Shepard

It sounds cheap because it's just a demo version. The final one will be better, of course.

I'll allow for that. But, the tune itself still sounds unremarkable and routine. I mean, what else can Zimmer do with a superhero that he hasn't already done before? No one has unlimited creative resources.

Like I said, though, I'm not setting out to hate the film or its score. Admittedly, I didn't like MOS trailer music or "Flight" when I first heard them, and now they're some of my favorite cues of Zimmer's. I reserve the right the change my mind about it when the final mix is done. But, it's not off to a promising start.

Why is it we have to be a composer's fan one way or the other. We like a score, we don't like a score. I do not dislike Zimmer, though I care nothing for most of his recent works. I adore Horner's stuff, but even there, there are plenty of scores that not "gems". If this demo IS the score, and you really think Horner's themes are shit, then you're screwed, because it sounds as if Zimmer is going to at least partially integrate Horner's thematic work. And for you that would then make THIS score what? Shit reheated?? :)

**seriously**. All I have to do is read the last page on any of these threads to see where it is headed....

---------- Post added at 12:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:40 PM ----------

I hardly think this is a hate Zimmer forum. Like anything, there are fanatics on either side of the Isle. (Horner's scores are shit...Zimmer is a hack...blah, blah, blah)

You guys are fighting over and defending a score that is not even completed? OK. Saying the second film is crap when it is not even finished? Ok. I for one enjoyed Amazing Spiderman. Was not perfect, no. But it was a fun watch and I liked that Peter was portrayed as more of a smart ass. I definitely got an Ultimates type of feel from it. I found the first Spidey film merely ok. I think Spiderman 2 stands as the best, but could never identify one damn note of the theme. It was SO generic, especially for Elfman. The X-Films scores were subdued, all of marvel's scores are more texture and atmospheric than brassy and bold. Which is why Horner did not sound quite as much like himself. If that is the tone marvel wants for their films, then Zimmer would actually be a perfect choice. I personally think Spidey needs something really "funky", a tad of edge/horror and a really cheesy bold theme too. Cause he is such a conflicted mess as a character. And you **know** Pete is all about the corny...

You guys are fighting over and defending a score that is not even completed?

But of course. That's the true purpose and meaning of the internet and all its derivations: devoting a great deal of energy defending the meaningless while abandoning the meaningful. (I mean all the stuff about the internet being the great disseminator of information to the people, forget about it. The internet exists so people can elevate their petty squabbles worldwide.)

Remember: there are two certainties: birth and death. And life is just a way filling the void, pasting time, keeping ourselves busy between those fixed points until our individual clocks run out of time. And internet is a great way to waste that life on the inconsequential.

You could be reading a worthwhile book, (or writing one), volunteering your time to the needy, learning another language etc. . . Instead we're posting snarky comments.

Isn't the internet great?
