Finally, Blizzard pushed the new patch 2.1 update to their PTR servers and among that, there's a little but nonetheless awesome new change:


Classic StarCraft Soundtrack

You'll be able to delight in fifteen years of StarCraft nostalgia by rocking out to the classic StarCraft and Brood War soundtracks while you play StarCraft II in the PTR. Navigate to the Sound tab in the Options menu (F10) and select the StarCraft/Brood War, StarCraft II, or both soundtracks using the �Soundtrack� dropdown list. Then, fire up a game of StarCraft II in any non-Campaign mode to get the tunes flowing.

A user named digmouse on the TeamLiquid.net forums shared the new music and I thought I might share it with you guys, hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

So the SCI ost is only for the PTR or when the patch goes live with the SCI ost also go live with the patch?

It will be in the final patch, yes :) you can switch between the SC2 music, the SC1+BW music or both in the options on the PTR for now, but it will be like that when the patch goes live somewhere this month :)

Is this a direct rip? or was it converted? The frequency cut off on the zerg/protoss/terran 4 tracks about 11Khz... yuck. The CD if anyone is interested offers VASTLY better sound quality for all the other tracks. If it is a direct rip, can't believe Blizz stuck this poo in SC2, it sounds terrible. GRAB THE CD guys if you like this music.
Am looking for a decent quality version of the 4s (but I guess this is as good as it gets as I can't find any better) Unfortunately Blizz didn't release them on the CD.

yeah, sounds like a rip from the mpq files of the original game. they were very low quality.
