Humanova

Chapter I

As the foam rises, the popping of bubbles is heard. The sound of the glass being filled ignites his thirst. Every drop is heaven, every taste is freedom. He could even smell the taste, the smells of Ale in the morning.
He had just walked in the bar and ordered his favorite drink. After his journeys, he would forget it all over a glass of Ale. He stares down into his Ale looking at his reflection. His natural color is blonde but he had fallen accustomed to the ways of the past so he kept on dying it, but this time he would do it no more. In effect the roots were blonde and the rest was long pitch black going down to his lower back. His completion was nice now, but in the past years, it had been filled with acne, but luckily he had no scares. He had two beautiful sky blue galaxies on his face; every woman that he had met had become mesmerized by them. They said that they were windows into his soul but he never acknowledged it. His body had been well trained by his past and his skill had been mastered. He never wanted to show off what he had, there was no reason to he always told himself. It was only a way to show that you are only interested in what you are not who you are.
He is brought back to the present by the sound of a man sitting down beside him with a loud screech of the chair. He looked over and saw what he hated, another customer. He picked up his ale and took a drink, hoping to feel the taste of freedom but it was now broken by the customers presents.

Are you the tasker? The costumer asks hesitantly

Unfortunately, he whispers under his breath but then replies,

Yes I am he, I am Duron Malf.

Well, tasker, I have a job for you! The Costumer says eagerly.

Those were the words that he hated most; those words were like looking at a naked fat woman. It was death.

What is this job you speak of? Duron asked.

This will probably be one of your harder assignments, but Ive heard that you are the best at what you do. I am Edger J. Johnson, a great scientist, as you probably know. The customer says pride fully. And to complete my experiment which is a very complex bio-mechanical-tissue that, without going into much detail I can say, this tissue can be graphed to a appendage that has been severed and acts as a substitute for the appendage.

Duron looks down and shakes his head in annoyance.

Great! Another scientist that needs me to go find some device that will make the world a better place, again. People looking for fame and glory in this offal world. What a bunch of fame sucking maggots.

But what I need you to do is this I need you to find this orb or sphere called the Variance Sphere, The customer said, This Sphere is suppose to be located in the realm of the Gloom elves.
As he said Gloom Elves

Durons eyes shot open and he listened attentively.

I know what you are thinking, the Gloom elves are very deadly and it is death to even go near their village but remember you are the best of the best! Thats why I came to you.

Edger, even though I am the best, as you say, there is no way that I am going into the Gloom Elves village let alone the Realm of the Gloom Elves. There are things there that could eat a human being in one bite; there are wild animals that can sense the presence of the heat put off by the body. Not to mention what the Gloom Elves will do to you if they catch you.

Duron says trying to talk some sense into the scientist. There was a slight hint of scared but you could tell that he was not as afraid as he seemed to be.

Yes, yes I know of the dangers. I have read numerous books about the subject. Each one has its own weakness. If the correct principles are applied there is nothing to worry about, my friend.

My friend? Hes already calling me his friend. Some people will do anything to get the things that they want.

Of course each has a weakness but that doesnt mean its safe or smart to go in there. And sometimes things go out of the ' correct principles to apply' you know. Things in that forest are constantly evolving and changing into different things. And as you probably know they are getting smarter and faster all the time. Duron says.

Yes they are evolving and changing! Which is why they invented the Humanovas. Edger says as he leans back in his chain, folding his arms.

Duron had heard of these, Humanova before. From what he understood they were some sort of robot that is, in a way, like a human. The scientists that made it understood that robots can only have so much stress put upon them, but the human body can endure more than its stress limit by using adrenaline. So the scientist took samples of human adrenaline and processed it and made an artificial adrenaline for these robots. So while they were making this adrenaline another group of scientists made the robot. This robot that they were making was like a human body except that is has a cockpit for someone to fit inside it. The cockpit itself was a capsule that they injected into the back of the Humanova. Inside the capsule/cockpit it had something that has never been used in another cockpit. It had liquid in it, a substance that put oxygen into the blood stream not through breathing but by absorption rather. The person inside didnt have to breath with his lungs, because the liquid put oxygen not the blood stream.

It stood fifteen feet tall, and was usually red depending on the type of Humanova. Different colors were used for different enemies, because each was equipped with a different weapon.
Red Light infantry usually equipped with a knife and a handgun.
Blue- Light infantry usually equipped with a large sword and a handgun.
Green Very light infantry usually equipped with a sniper rifle, they are the Snipers.
Black heavy infantry usually equipped with a large particle cannon and a small sword.
Yellow Heavy infantry usually equipped with a flamethrower and a knife.
Purple Super heavy infantry usually equipped EMP, Electrical photon cannon, two handguns and self-destruct.

These were the only different units that Duron had heard of, but there might be more out there.
So they put the two together and made a human-oid robot. They tested it and found out that they could make the adrenaline a lot better than human adrenaline. They took it and processed it for a long time and gave it a little zing and came up with Adrenaline X. Which pushed those Humanovas to the max. Adrenaline already puts so much stress on the body as it is but with Adrenaline X it almost made the humanova blowup. The after effect of Adrenaline X is just outrageous, the Humanova starts twitching and jumping high into the air and, from what Duron has heard, it takes weeks for that thing to calm down.
But they used those things to hunt the more evolved creature. And the humanovas did really well.

Duron caved, For your sake, you better pay as good as you speak old man.

Good, so you will accept my offer! And dont worry about the pay, you name your price! Edger said as he smiled big.

Duron walked out of the room and over to his horse.

I hate going into that forest! You cant have a descent nights sleep with out a humanova popping up or a creature eating your blanket. Oh, boy this is going to be fun.

He mounted his horse and rode off.

As you can tell, I suck at writing. But who cares! I'll get better! maybe....

I'm not trying to come across as mean or anything, so I hope that it doesn't sound that way.

But this is a bit hard to read, because you change tenses.

The story seems interesting apart from that though, and pretty well written.
