Who was your favorite Aeon in Final Fantasy X?

My favorite was Ixion- I have a sort spot for anything unicorn-esque, I suppose. Most people that I've talked to never used him, but I thought he was was pretty decent.

Bahamut and The Magus Sisters probably saw the most use later on in the game though.

My favourite was probably the Magus Sisters. I used them the most and they were really useful, especially Mindy's "Passado" attack! I thought Bahamut looked the best, though.

as for usefullness i can't comment because i only used them once to see what they look like.
but in visuals my favorite was Ifrit. i thought bahamut was a little too much although he was my favorite in all the other FFs i played.

I think Bahamut in FF9 looks better than in FFX.

i still prefer the one in FF VIII. i think it was the best. so simple. just like a regular dragon. i liked it. the one in IX was great too. loved the fact that it had no eyes.
bahamut zero from VII was awesome too.

My top favorite of the game is Anima, because this one is so powerful, and it looks dangerous too. :)

Yojimbo.

He's a Samurai guy with a choice of weapons, and a dog that goes psycho and bites the opponent's leg off. Then, when you pay the guy enough and he gets all annoyed, he cracks out the one move that nothing can stop. Zantetsuken. (If my spelling is correct...) I loved summoning him and paying him and watching that move. Take out, nyeh. XD

Yes, I like Jojimbo too. He is cool looking, but I didn't use him that often.... ;)

I like Anima best because of his overdrive, the shrivelled thing on his underside looks so cool. I hate ixion, he looks like a giant poodle and his horn should be straight.

Zanmato. I knew it began with Zan. And I knew it wiped out everything in its path. So I guess I was halfway there or something...

The Magus Sisters were probably my favorite too. I love their entrance, and the fact that it's really difficult to defeat them once their stats are high enough.

Wow, I never thought I'd find someone else who loved Ixion. This makes me smile.

I think all the ones you get at the beginning can be pretty awesome if you build up their stats and such. Valefor pumped up is awesome- he's so fast!

i like anima too because that aeon is most bad ass summon ever. both in looks and damage ;o although every summons who has damage limit break does 99999 later on. still he owned every omega ruins monsters for me when my party was low level :) magus sisters are very strong too but ;[ not bad ass enough. and i hate fat one ;[

Favorite Shiva. She looked like she had a kick ass attitude and she was very agile. Afterwards Bahamut, and Anima. Anima just looked so evil and I loved his overdrive. Bahamut just was colourful =P

I actaully like Valefor, I gave him tons of abilities and raised his stats which makes him alot better later in the game. But I doubt anyone really uses him, I love his second overdrive alot.

Shiva...Super strong, super quick(No Haste), and super good.
Shiva could easily weaken Anima(With Heavenly Strike) so one of my others took him down.

My favourite would be Shiva, swift and elegant. She's also the smallest of the lot making her almost look like one of your party. Then she has that constant whirl of ice protruding beneath her.

In terms of power, it would be Anima simply because of her overdrive. 16 x 99,999 (all enemies) in the PAL/International versions.

seymour's anima was easy ;; i didnt even use shiva for that just hit like mad with auron and tidus.

her summon is cool as is her overdrive.
theres not much more, i just love Shiva

My favorite Aeon in the game was Shiva, in fact she is probably my favorite summon creature all together.

I especially liked her in this game though. I thought she was beautifuly designed, and I like her agility and her heavenly strike move. her apperance like some others said was elgant and I completly agree with that. So Shiva is deffinetly my favorite Aeon

Ah, not to mention the click of her fingers for diamond dust.

I have two favorites here:

- Anima is my favorite aeon. The first time I summoned it, it actually was a little disturbing. That's why I loved it! For something that powerful and that evil being pulled out of hell by chains to help you, is pretty awesome! Oblivion is just icing on the cake.

- But probably my favorite overdrive because it is quick and extremely powerful (if you build up his stats) is Valefor's Energy Blast! It was very nicely done.

LOL.... well i cant say much for MY VALEFOR.... but..... my bahamut kicks ass....

still I am staying with Shiva....

Yeah Shiva is my Fav and always have been thoughout all the FF series the way she was designed was really beautiful.

They were strong for most bosses since there were three of them. I loved abusing Passado.

It's not that I don't like them, I just like Shiva. Not for power though, but this isn't about power.

I like Anima but when he's so powerful that it makes the game really easy. I defeated Braska's Final Aeon with one Oblivion overdrive. Seems that using power like that defeats the object of having a hard game to beat.

Anima's still awesome though.

Anima doesn't come across as being very feminine but if you look at what's hanging around it's neck you get the feeling its female. Alongside the fact that Seymour's Mother became a fayth in the form of Anima;)

Yojimbo's summon deifinately made him cool, but what i didnt like about him was that you had to pay him so darn much.
So I guess I am still going to have to say Shiva.

My favorite is Valefor. I love watching him and Yuna interact. It's so cute how she pats him on the beak as if to say, "Now you go be good." And how he catches her in Bevelle, it's so sweet. Also, he comforts Tidus (I think it was Tidus) at some point when they are locked away. I guess since he was Yuna's first Aeon they have a special bond.

Anima just scares me...imagine your mom doing that for you, sure, cool, but to LOOK like THAT!?! No. That's too messed up for me. I don't summon her much, but I did call her up to wipe out Omega Weapon. I switched everybody in and had them steal or whatever and then hit it with Anima's OD - it was overkill city.

And yes I love Shiva snapping her fingers. Whatever happened to Siren? Is she a regular? She was hot. Oh yeah, I just pay Yojimbo 1 gil every time and he does different attacks. Of course, at this point diagoro causes overkill, so maybe I will pay him more and try to get zanmato at some point.

yeah, but hes not that poweful... as compared to Bahamut... but yeah the ineraction between them are way cute.

anima rules :) very bad ass looking + strong as hell. although i don't like his oblivion skill ;[ kinda dumb imo.

It totally decimated Belgemines Magus Sisters at Remiem Temple........ but then again.... is that really hard to with Anima's power flying out of places we dont want to know about....??

Actually, on overdrives my Valefor does as much damage as Bahamut. True, his regular attacks are not as powerful.

I did forget about the little thing Bahamut does at the end of fights - he looks down at Yuna. It's not like GF's where there was no interaction. It's cool too that a little kid was the fayth for Bahamut.

So I guess my faves are:
Valefor
Bahamut
Shiva

I think I just like feeling like they are actually part of the party, instead of some strange and distant outside force. Those are the ones that interact with Yuna the most, or at least that I notice.

Valefor's Energy Blast is the most powerful single hit overdrive in the game. But due to the 99,999 limit, you can't see the difference. Valefor's a bit slow in battle due to all the flying, which is why I prefer Shiva.

I like Yojimbo when he doesn't decide to do his own thing.

the main reason i dont like or use Valefor is because of his slowness.... you'd think he'd be faster because he CAN fly.... but on sheer power that I have seen so far i would have to say Anima

valefor i agree is a slower aeon than some of the others but he can be good cuz of his seocnd overdrive still outclassed by anima and bahamut though they were easlier to get the stats and health up more

Valefor is super fast, if you do some stat boosting anyways.

I'm pretty sure that when all was said and done, Valefor was my quickest Aeon.

Valefor wasn't that fast for me. He was a good Aeon and one of my favourites but part from his 2nd overdrive he isn't that strong. My fastest Aeon is of course Shiva.

Hey Mick, I haven't even gotten my second OD with Valefore and she already inflicts as much damage as Anima's OD. Maybe you need to upgrade a celestial weapon (Yuna's?) to see her kick butt.

My favourite is anima, for the pure and simple fact that it blinks and kills people with it >_<

Also, when it does its overdrive, a weirdo pigeon thats attached to the bottom punches people to death *dances*

Yeah I'm aware of that. Like I said before Is one of my fav Aeons.

He isn't as strong as the other cuz I didn't increase his attributes. I'm not saying his a bad Aeon I'm just saying my Valefore Isn't as strong as he could be.

Ah! gotcha. Yes, I didn't bother raising anyone's stats much after I got them all. I was pleased to see, though, that they came along by themselves. How do they level up, anyway? Just the weapons?

Ok, well as far as which aeon is easiest on the eyes, gee, Shiva, anyone? By the way I asked earlier and no one has answered yet, had Siren ever appeared before FFVIII and is she likely to return in a future game? I'd love to see her again. *breaks out FFVIII for a few battles*

All my Aeons have max stats and Valefor is still the slowest. I mean the movement speed. Jump up a bit, fly foward, do some little jump kick, fly all the way back. Well, she seems the slowest anyway. But Energy Blast is a massive help against the bosses from Mt.Gagazet - Yunalesca, if you get Yuna's Nirvana. Valefor is the weakest at that point, but has the strongest single hit overdrive in the game.

Yeah I realize that.... but he's got the upperhand there because......... gimme a count........ how many other Aeons have single hit overdrives....

If your really nice to him and give him loads of money each time for a little while, you can give him like 2 gil and he will do zanmato.

He's the only aeon i used to defeat the dark aeons :D

i got Anima into overdrive to beat the aeons, that does the trick too ;) but i think yojimbo is the winner of this round, yup! bahamut second, and anima third

Yes yojimbo's Zanmato is quite cheap (no disrespect)

try beating the Dark Aeons and Penance without using Zanmato.

Rikku_love, in international versions of the game, there are Dark Aeons, and after you beat them all there is another one that shows up called Penance. So pretty much our version of the game sucks compared to theirs. There is a <a href="http://forums.ffshrine.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14756" target="blank">thread</a> that talks about it. Take a look :)

Honestly, I think Anima's overrated. She may have a powerful Overdrive, but that's about it, and that's only in the International/PAL versions too. In the Jap and US/C versions it's only a single hit. At equal stats, Delta Attack, Oblivion and Energy Blast are roughly equal in the damage they deal.

If you're talking about general combat, I'd say the Magus Sisters are the strongest since they're three of them. They can survive longer than all the others when facing a strong enemy.

Hey Sephiroth, you aren't imagining things. I whipped out Anima in the Arena and the oblivion did like 25k damage, but Pain caused maximum damage. Can't remember who I was fighting.

So are the big GF's/Aeons always different? Like we always see Bahamut and Shiva and the like but was Eden a one game girl? I've only played VIII, X, and X-2. We always see some things and some things always change? Is that the rule?

well your anima's are werid i but short sequnce on so when u do its over drive it comes up with over a million and pain only does 99999

I havent used Valefor during the entire game so it only has its first overdrive....... before I fought overdrive Sin it was like below 10k and now its overdrive does like a minimum of 25k.......... is it supposed to be that way? O_o I am so confused....

Anima all the way. Wrapped up in chains, a move called 'Pain' that can instantly kill.

He's definately the most BA of the bunch.

Mindy's Passado, the move I love to abuse. The Magus Sisters can survive a tough battle far more easily than Anima could.

But Pain doing more damage than Oblivion? That's something new. Would you mean each individual hit of Oblivion does less than Pain?

Dark Anima's Pain is the true instant kill; the death effect that penetrates any protection.

Eden was only in FFVIII. Summons like Bahamut, Shiva and Ifrit are in multiple games.

Yes I have to give the Magus Sisters their props but no... on most attacks Oblivion in general does less than pain.... and there was that one time when it did do more than Pain did.

Like those Magus Sisters rock teh bunch. they reallly come in hand'ay when it comes to the monster arena me thinks.

The Magus Sisters are strong yes, but a big part of that is cus there's 3 of them. Sure there strong individually, but isn't the reason there so strong is cuz the 3 of them are together?

Individually, all their stats except for Mindy's are higher than all the other Aeons. Anima will eventually take over Mindy.

I see your point. but if you go after enimies like the Dark Aeons (from Bahamut and higher) and Penance, The Magus sisters stay alive longer because they back each other up. For instance, The fat lady bug (Cindy I think she called) has the ability to cast support spells like Regen, Auto-Life etc. While she's doing that you can have Mindy and Sandy attack. But if they were on there own then they would be able to attack as well as heal at the same time. In my view thats a big part of why they are so strong, cuz they can heal, support and attack all at the same time.

Considering that I dont have them, I would have to say that Anima is pretty powerful oin comparison to the others that I do have, now Yojimbo is just cheap... you spend million o' moolah and HE SUCKS!!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

when i first played through ffx i had no idea about the magus sisters or anima or yojimbo (it was my first time OKAY?!) and at the end when yuna is sending the aeons (and auron) i noticed the magus sisters and yojimbo...i remember thinking, 'who are they???' because i never got them

pretty funny when you think about it ^_^ to me it is anyway

i cryed when she sent auron, i think he said 'go on' or 'go ahead' or something like that....sooo brave! but he'd fufilled his promises to both yuna and tidus, and it was time to rest. i cryed at the end of X and during/near the end of it and i cryed aaaaall the way through X-2 (such a sap i know)

i don't like the magus sisters, i like the 2 brother's from 8 but i don't like the magus sisters....that fat one gets on my nerves lol

I liked Aurons speeches. They were full opf wizdom and had moral behind most of them. He helped me alot and he's really cool. But they can be annoying when your in a hurry.

My favourite Aeon overdrive is Anima's Oblivion. I love that overdrive.

AURONS SPEECHES WERE GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love Auron and I am so pissed off that he gets sent.... but I am also happy that the Fayth were allowed to rest and the Aeons got to rest too...

Overdrive damage way, Anima is the strongest Aeon. Should you build up her stats to the max and use her Overdrive she'll land 15 blows, each blow doing up to 99.999 damage is nearly 1.500.000 of total damage. The Magus Sisters aren't anywhere near that with their Overdrive.

overkill is great because if your pissed of at a boss or something....... DIE!!!!! and then your absolutely sure you got them....... unless its Seymour...... not the point...... but yeah Anima is great

She actually does 16 hits so the total is 1,599,984. But people with the jap and us versions won't get that. Both Delta Attack and Oblivion are sigle hit overdrives in those versions.

If all Aeons have maximum stats, Anima is the strongest overall simply because you can control her normally.

i didn't really count the blows she made...too fast! but there are other differences between the american/japan one and the one's here right? i've heard of a few

If you have Anima at a resonably high level then it's Oblivion would have no problem wiping out Omega Weapon.

I also liked Shive cuz of her speed.

out of all the Aeons Ifrit and Ixion were the fastest am I correct?

But I didn't max out on speed. Only Shiva's for some reason, so for me she was the fastest.

Without manually affecting the stats, Shiva has the highest agility stat I think.

best is anima because of mass power or bahamut for same reason, as well as fairly good speed...

Mine has to be Bahamut. anything that huge with that much firepower is just too good to ignore. besides i can do a wicked sketch of him!

My top picks:

1) SHIVA - her ffX form is the best. she definitely lookes like a goddess and i've always liked her diamond dust. hail shiva!
2) IXION- I love horses. The first time I saw him, I was impressed. He IS awesome.
3) YOJIMBO- A greedy samurai aint that bad. plus, i really want his pet Daigoro for myself >_<

I like Bahamut in the other ff games, but here in ffx, i thought he looked weird. he looked like a peacock..so i didnt include him in the list. Same goes with Ifrit. Loved him in ff7 and ff8, but here, he looked like an ordinary wolf or something. Not the intimidating, regal-looking Ifrit I've seen in the past ff games. (Just my opinion, no offense meant).

Greedy samurai suck............ I spent all that gil and he blows................ dumb decision....... Anima was worth the effort to get....

I only got Anima recently. OMG does she kick ass!! It's shocking, the first time I used her, wow with the being able to cast Death in an attack. And just her attacks are very powerful too, well not as much as the Magus sisters... but still

Ooh, that's bad. If I ever saw Diagoro being used it would be a straight reset for me. 1000 gil per turn, that should lead to Kozuka and onwards.

Anima is the best undoubtly but my favourite aeon is shiva.

i've always thought shiva was a pretty summon (all together) but in ffx she's gorgous ^_^ i liked valefore i got his second overdrive
