So who do you think is the best character of these male leads? This is not a rumble, but more like Smokey's "Aeris vs. Tifa" thread.

Cecil is greater than all of them.

Seriously, he is the male lead whom I associated with the most. The guy who had his soul in the shadow, but through a love of one particular woman he was able to turn away from the darkness and embrace the light.

It may seem a minor thing, to give up your power in order to save a loved one and start anew with new skills and learning new things... But ultimately it is this sacrifice which saves the world from Zeromus' rage and destruction.

Out of those five though: Tidus. The other four have their strengths and their weaknesses, but Tidus is absolutely incredible in his role in Final Fantasy X. Where the party are always striving to find hope in Yuna's pilgrimage, Tidus provided it. When they were faced with the final choice, it was Tidus who gave them the confidence to choose the right path. It was Tidus who affected all their lives so they COULD make that change.

Hey Bahamut ZERO, I forgot to add Cecil and Bartz. As you are a mod, could you add them two to the poll? That would be good.

I liked Zidane the best. optomists (sp?) are the best and he was always optomistic.

Zidane was also like that, but he was humorous too.

Squall wasn't much of an inspiration to his friends, but later he was. He changed so much through the game.

Same with Cloud. This is really hard... but I'll have to say Squall or Cloud... Even though I love all of them.

I think cloud is the best... hes really good i think.

No, it's really not like that thread. People who keep posting in there don't seem to understand the point of it, so they just are too lazy to check out the real meaning of it.

There was no definite lead character in FFVI, so that eliminates Locke.

Cloud was so confusing that I wondered if he was just drunk all the time or something.

Squall is a chicken-wuss. He doesn't take control of situations enough during the game. Instead he just lies back and watches.

Zidane was alright, but I didn't see him as anything special.

Tidus complained too much, but he did have good motives for his actions and stuck to them.

So that leaves Cecil. I find him to be the best male character of all these. I still have high respect for him because he had to overcome his guilty past and defeat himself to become the hope for humanity. That is something I really admire, to this day still.

He was strong enough to not be drawn into the darkness. His love for Rosa helped him resist evil, and ultimately conquer this evil.

I find Cecil as the best male character of all these.

Cecil quite easily wins, he didn't seem arrogant, cocky or bad really even when he was a Dark Knight. He had all the needed traits for being the perfect hero.

No Cecil MUST win.

Squall was an ignorant bugger.

Cloud was a nutcase

Tidus is a puff

Zidane acted like a 6 year-old

Even though Locke is my favorite out of those, I'd have to say Cecil is the best of them.

I just have a lot of fondness for Locke. Maybe I'm being sentimental- I think he was the first video game character I ever had a crush on.

I also think Cecil is th best, but he should of cut his hair when he became a paladin, though! :)

I'd vote Cecil as well because he was'nt such a mix of emotions that made him look angsty or anything, just determined.

And although Squall was angtsy and anti-social, I liked his transformation throughout FFVIII, and his gunblade was kick-ass so I would put him in second place.

I just think squall is the best cause his sword is cool i know bad reason i just think hes cool

Like smokey said, there is no main lead character of FF6...... most characters have arguements on their behalf......

My favorites in order:
1.Cecil: Do even I have to explain why?
2.Cloud: I can relate myself to him in someways(not that he is crazy) and he has a big ass sword
3.Squall: I like him more than Tidus and Zidane(I personally thought the gunblade weapon was really lame...)
4.Tidus: I like him more than Zidane
5: Zidane: Acts like my 8 year old sister and has a monkey tail

I didn't say they weren't. Well, actually, I sort of did in my earlier post. But still, I didn't say...

Instead, I just simply briefed on why I don't think they are the best. And, you seem to agree that these two win hands down, so I just wanted an explanation.

So, if any of the other characters had a gun blade, that would make you like him more? And, I really don't see how he deserves it the most either. The one that deserves it the most is the character that was the best at doing what he was in the game for. And, like I said before, I believe Cecil is the best of these male leading characters.

Just because Squall has a cool looking weapon or he is sexy, has nothing to do with what makes him the best male character.

I'm going to choose Squall. Simply because he was the most developed character. I liked his relationship with Rinoa too.

I would have to say cloud, just for the fact that he has spikey hair, and if he headbutted you, i sure you would be in intensive care for a few days.

I liked Squall. I like his whle I don't care about anyone else attitude that he has at the start.
