ffx is my first rpg game that i am actually playing and kinda enjoying, i'm just stuck at the first 1st seymour fight, i can get past the gaurds and anima pretty "easily" , the new aeon shiva doesn't attack 9999 hp though like it says in strategy guides?? and it ends up getting killed by anima's overdrive , so i end up finishing anima up with lulu's spells.................

after that i'm stuck with the 6000 seymour, i guess i don't time Yuna correctly to give life and cura to my gang? cause i always die, it seems like you really can't attack seymour or you die, cause you spend the whole freaking time curing and life'ing up everybody else?

i know there are tips on casting nul anti-element spells, but i don't know the order in which seymour casts his spells, and it ends up bad for me, if someone could give me the exact order and how to attack him ? i don't know if my aeons are on overdrive enough to quickly finish him off after anima..........i doubt it

p.s.

off topic, should i stop playing this game and concentrate and get ff7, everybody says its the best ff game??

You've started FFX, so you may as well finish it, yes?

Firstly: Is there anyway you can go outside and battle before you go in and face Seymour? I forget if you save it or not, but if you can, go out and level up your characters some more.

I also forget if Yuna is in your party or not. If she is, get the overdrives for the aeons powered up and use them. Power up the overdrives for your characters and use them.

If you can't get out and battle... I guess you've got to rely on luck. :(

yeah since u already started FFX might as well finish it first :) FF series' stories are not connected so no need to play 7 first.

If you're enjoying Final Fantasy X a lot, then keep playing it. When a boss fight gives you some trouble, it just makes it that much more awesome when you finally manage to lay said boss to waste.

i can go outside the temple and level up, but yuna isn't there, so i can't help the aeons get to overdrive, my HP is pretty good i guess, average is around 1700 for each character other than rikku and yuna, are there any tips to stay alive??

Okay, it's been a while since I've played X, so bear with me. I'll try and think of some helpful stuff though.

If you have Rikku steal from the guards, they won't be able to use Auto-Potion, that should help.

Casting reflect is also pretty useful.

Have Yuna keep casting Nul Shock, Nul Blaze, and Nul Tide in that order.

That's all I can come up with at the moment. Good Luck!

maybe Im late on this..

I would first make sure my characters are all in overdrive mode. Rikku should steal potions and hi-potions so you can have a healthy stock before battle.

When you confront seymour still the potions from both guado guardians using Rikku. Then Elimnate each one with other characters. Have Yuna cure them if necessary. Seymour would then summon anima at which point you should summon the new Aeon Shiva. What I did was alternate between healing her with her Blizzara magic and attacking (heal Shiva when Anima uses pain). Shiva should gain overdrive in no time and use it on Anima. Causing 9999 damage I think depends on how much HP anima has left but it should cause sufficient damage to end the battle with Anima.

Afterwards, dismiss Shiva. Seymour would be easier to beat with a different Aeon (like ifrit or ixion, aeons that are able to heal themselves with their magic) and the battle should be over afterwards. Either that or use Tidus, Auron, and Yuna. Have Tidus cast haste and Auron do Power Break, and Magic Break (it has no effect but I see his power in attacking is stronger than regular attacks). Lulu should also be brought in to cast magic. Yuna cures when needed.

The battle should be over after that, its really easy.

edit// if you have obtained Auto-Life already then that would be useful since your new at this.

And remember to level up all your characters, especially the heavy magic users (like lulu and yuna) because they prove to be useful in most boss battles and if they are to weak they can be killled off easily. Rikku is also another character to level up quickly and to add HP to. Her mix overdrive is very helpful.

All you need to do is cast reflect on your entire party and he will kill himself quick enough.

Remember, it's the first Seymour confrontation. Chances are the levels are still too low for skills such as auto-life and reflect... :/ I still say the easiest way to get around any FF boss problems is to level up your character and come back. Level up enough, and you will get these abilities, but Auto-Life is behind some Level 4 Key Locks, so I doubt you'll be reaching it soon...

What BahamutZero said is true though, Auto-Life is a bit hard to obtain so early in the game unless you were so lucky to get a Lv 4 key sphere that early.

But reflect you can get and cura, if you train Yuna enough. Cura would help out a lot since cure may not be to useful if your characters have high HP.

*** make sure that Rikku has a good healthy supply of Al Bhed potions. If not purchase loads of hi-potions, remedies, and softs. ( Talk to some of the al bhed and they might give you items) Have your characters equipped with poison ward armor if available.

**If you didnt save your game before the boss battle, try defeating the enemies on the ship until your characters are in overdrive

**also keep watch of the ctb window its very helpful to know when cids turn is coming up.

Well I would begin my battle with Rikku, Tidus and Auron (and througout the battle keep someone with the trigger command handy). Cast Hastega or Haste if you have it on your party to increase your turns and cids turns. Have Auron use his power breaks and magic breaks (again no affects i believe but a bit stronger). Have Rikku throw grenades and use Al Bhed potions when needed and use Tidus Cheer to increase the parties strength. When the dragon roars, automatically press the trigger command to pull back. The dragon would then use poison breath and it would be out of reach preventing the poison effect. Here bring in Wakka and Lulu, and if they are in overdrive cast loads of elemental damage. After a photon attack the dragon may do a Swooping Scythe.

At this point the dragon would most probably cast haste (like when youve done half the damage) so have Rikku, Auron, Tidus, and Khimari (if he is strong enough and you chose wakka's path) To attack. Cast Hasega again if the spell has negated, and Have Rikku adminstor Al Bhed potions. .. Tidus continues attacking.

I found this the easiest way to beat him, Its all just on precise timing so you wont get full damage. Usually when I pulled back after the dragon roared, I just took that time to heal my characters and pulled the ship in. The dragon is easy, if you have good timing and strong hit attacks.

Hope that helps, sorry its so long though :) :o
