Thanks vje11! I guess Chingon (the Mexican band helped formed by Rodriguez himself) is better remembered or credited in the first film Machete. No official release of the soundtrack had been made and very little infos about the music credits then. On this sequel though Carl Thiel wrote about 100 minutes of music logically this would mean he's the main composer for the film.

Allow me to weigh in here: Chingon (essentially Rodriguez's band) consists of:

Robert Rodriguez (obviously)
Carl Thiel (who's worked with Rodriguez on Planet Terror, Shorts, Machete and Spy Kids 4)
Rick Del Castillo & Mark Del Castillo [who together form Del Castillo] (who's also worked on Spy Kids 3D, Once Upon A Time In Mexico and Planet Terror)
John Debney (whom many of you know as an independent composer as well. Debney has worked with Rodriguez on Sin City)

And there's also Tito & Tarantula, famously known for performing in From Dusk Till Dawn
