Basically there was a lot of fuss (mainly between me and Prak) that FF7 is good enough to be made into an anime. Basically, it was nearly resolved in the FF7:AC thread, so I decided to open a new thread for everyone else to give their ideas!

Just to be clear, I never said I was against an FFVII anime. I just argued that it would require heavy alteration to the story. And as I recall, you did agree with me there in the end.

yeah, I sort meant how it would have to be made into it, by altering the story, etc...

Altering isn't exactly the word. More like..adding things. But I don't see how they could change it like Prak was saying. But it could very well be an anime..

Do you mean Anime as in comic book? or more like the FFU series?

Anime, being the Japanese word for animation, tends to imply something animated like FF:U.

Meh... I disagree. I thought the game had a promising premise that suffered from flawed development and presentation. I'd be happy to see what it would be like if a talented writer adapted it, repairing all the plot holes and fleshing out the grossly underdeveloped characters. Perhaps we could even see Cloud with a real personality. I'd probably still think he was boring though.

The creator intended for there to be plotholes..It's a puzzle! Haven't you figured that out yet?!?!

It's bad writing. Nothing more. If you want a mystery, play a mystery game. Of course, even those have all the pieces of the puzzle available. That "It was intended to be that way" line is nothing but a cop-out; an excuse rabid fans cling to so they won't have to acknowledge good common sense.

There's nothing wrong with liking a flawed game, but there is something wrong with trying to pretend the flaws don't exist.

I don't think there should be an anime series... as much as I love ffVII, it would just ruin the story. Also, they couldn't just make the series exactly like the game. First they'd extend it, and it just would ruin your idea of what happens afterward (before advent children).

I agree that a FF7 anime would be cool, but I think its time to move on, there is others Final Fantasy that you can play. So, I am against the idea of FF7 anime(I agree with Lunatic HighVII). But if they do one, I would buy it lol.

i think that the storyline is perfectly adaptable to be made into an anime. Although it may need some additions to the storyline

Well, as a FF fan, of course, on the one side I'd like an Anime..... :rolleyes:

But on the other side, I wouldn't like a Anime series, because for that, they would have to change too much. It would destroy everything, the story, and also the peoples fantasys.... :(

What I would really like is, making movies (in the style of AC, computer animated) out of all all the FF parts that exist already. :)

No thanks. Square has already cashed out on FFVII enough.

Honestly, the story is bad enough that it's hard to even enjoy playing the game once you get farther in. If it was just the story and nothing else, it'd be pretty awful. It'd need major, major changes, and I doubt most FF fans would want to see it.

And also, I think it's really annoying when people say that all of FFVII's flaws were "supposed to be there".

HECK NO! a ff anime of any kind i think would be horrible and make people think less of the games

I agree with Aerith Gainsborough. it would ruin the story, yet it'd be interesting if it did come out. that movie thing's a really cool idea!!

I actually think it very clever....If it was done by a REALLY good anime artist. Definatly not Shonen Jump. But maybe like....Escaflowne type art or somthing.....I know I'd watch it.

In case everyone was wondering, I don't actually want it to be made into an anime, its just me and Prak discussed in a PM and I wanted to know everyone else's views.

I just find it ironic that Sephiroth's Brother, the FFVII fan, is against the idea, whereas I, the one who despises the game, am all for it.

yeah, I love the game, but I don't think an anime would work, but no one would know unless it was actually released. And I think its time that you and me, Prak, stopped arguing about FFVII. Okay, I like it, and you hate it, but it doesn't really matter and its getting a bit boring. :(

hey, that is completely off the subject of this thread!

but not a movie or a long series (like dragon ball)
a semi-series like DN Angel or Evangelion, 20-30 chapters to conclude all the plot. it can be very cool if someone really do it.

I actually had it figured for a 12 episode OVA series.

I personally think it should be made into an anime. For a start, i like seven and all, but my cousin owned it and one of my friends discs doesn't work, plus it's off the market now, i never had the chance to finish - an Anime could me what i need to see.
For people who aren't like me, it would still be a nice plothole finisher

I would think an anime Final Fantasy 7 would be good. I'd buy it if it came out,
but never would I buy FFU. I saw a preview of it in a magazine showing laughing girls in school uniforms, dancing cactuars, and strange looking singing chocobos. Looked dumb to me. But an anime FF7 would be good as long as they kept the same storyline as the original game. It would ruin Advent Children if they based it on that.

Final Fantasy 7 is too long to be made into a TV series thats any shorter than a Dragonball Z series (And we wouldnt want a really long series like a Dragonball Z one, it gets too boring)

But if they cut bits of the plot out to shorten it, it wouldnt be the same

But if they did make a series i'd still watch it :D (maybe not all of it though).

(Also they'd have to sensor Barrett's/Cid's attitude if they made a TV series, and that just wouldn't be the same now would it heh heh)

ff7 anime....a question i have pondered over while i wasted my life away for about 6 years straight as i played ff7, thats right 6 years i wasted, nay, "spent" on this game, so as far as an anime goes i say this:

for one, the anime would be cool but they would either have to add stuff or cut some stuff out, which would both kinda suck, now they could possibly do it in about 40-50 episodes i'd say, and if they didnt cut or add it would be cool as long as it stays true to the game

now should they make it? well it depends....if they use good voices and if they add to character development, if they use the wrong voices it would piss us all off, which wouldn't be a good thing (why do u think they don't give link a voice in any of the zelda games) if they give the characters a little more personality then i'm all for it, and if they use good voices, good voices is a must i can't express this enough

now that we'v discussed that lets talk voices, for one i say the guy who did pegasus's voices in Yugioh should do sephiroths, it just seems like it would fit, and besides they both have silver hair muahahaaa :laugh:
