Hello there. I do remember this from all those years ago. Brian Keith was the soviet premier and Rock Hudson was US president I think! It was one of those series that was made during the resurgence of the cold war in the early eighties. I vaguely remember music. Listened to Gil Melles Andromeda strain the other day. Thanks for the share.

And here's a cover I slapped together:

Cool artwork and track names - thanks for making this a better upload!

FYI Warner Archive released the miniseries on dvd, but it's zoomed-in widescreen for widescreen TV, unlike the fullscreen vhs. Despite complaints, I dont think they're going to redo it.

It's nice that you're enjoying your own copy of the Andromeda Strain. Not that I'm jealous or sticking pins in a doll named Seymour...

I'm scanning the threads every day trying to track down a clean 320 copy of same, with decent art.

Tell me, are feeling any pain *right now* ?

Thank you for this fantastic gem sadsack......excellent.......
this movie or mini-series has a bitter footnote :
Director Boris Sagal was killed in an accident during production of the miniseries World War III, when he was partially decapitated after walking into the tail rotor blades of a helicopter in the parking lot of the Timberline Lodge in Oregon. An investigation revealed that he turned the wrong way when exiting the helicopter and walked into the tail rotor. He died five hours later in a Portland hospital. Sagal directed the 1971 cult classic science fiction film, The Omega Man, starring Charlton Heston in the lead roll.
