Out of curiosity I converted the WAV files to FLAC using dBpoweramp and the file size was reduced to less than half. To my ears the sound quality sounds the same (am using a laptop with powerful external speakers). Is the quality for WAV and FLAC really the same and if so why is the WAV format still used if it takes up so much space?

It's not the rejected score. DAKoftheOTA has mentioned this countless times before. The first score was composed and recorded by Lisa Gerrard and Patrick Cassidy but was 'rejected' because they couldn't finish in time. Jack Lenz was the primary musical researcher for Passion of the Christ.

Yeah. Most of the materials here already used in the film score.

- Garden is an alternate of The Olive Garden / Night Sky, the same vocals by Tanya Tsarouska
- Moments of Truth / Vastworld basically used in the first half of Bearing The Cross (film mix)
- Bird - Full Version partly used in the Crucifixion (film mix)
- Behold Your Mother is an alternate of It Is Done

The rest remain unused, though.

I'm still after Lisa Gerrard's rejected material, I'm dying to hear it. Maybe one day....

Looking for answers, Gibson's waffling led to rumors that James Horner was interested in the project. Then, talk involved romantic female composers such as Lisa Gerrard and Rachel Portman, who, in hindsight, would have had no chance to compose what Gibson would eventually decide upon for his film's musical identity. Portman did indeed have the job until her pregnancy caused her to bow out gracefully.

I think you are forgetting that James Horner's first project with Mel Gibson was for Gibson's first film "The Man Without A Face" (1993). I am always surprised when I read that Horner only worked on Braveheart and Apocalypto with Gibson when I know they did three films together. Just my two cents...

Also, the front cover of the album clearly states"Expanded 10th Anniversary Edition", Expanded being the key word. I'm not sure if La-La Land has ever released a 100% complete score on disc.
