Hi all, :)

I'm looking for FLAC rips of Joypad CD Vol. 2 - Les musiques de Tomb Raider 1 & 2, Tomb Raider 3 - Toutes les musiques and Tomb Raider - Plein Les Oreilles.

Tomb Raider 3 - Toutes les musiques was a promotional CD included with the French magazine Total Play in issue 14. It contains music from the first three Tomb Raider games.

Joypad CD Vol. 2 - Les musiques de Tomb Raider 1 & 2 was also a promotional CD included with the French magazine Joypad. It contains music from the first two Tomb Raider games.

Tomb Raider - Plein Les Oreilles was also a promotional CD included with the French magazine Playmag in issue 13.

I already have MP3 rips of them (from http://www.abandonware-magazines.org/), but would much prefer FLAC rips if anyone has them.

Thank you!

+1 as well. The main reason being the original tracks on Tomb Raider III are stored in XA audio at 37.8 KHz. So not only are they less than CD quality, but also have noise issues due to the XA format. I'm hoping this CD happens to use 44.1 sources. I did some research and found evidence that the CD had been Flac-ripped, but the links have long since expired, and one download site wanted to install an exe (which I refused).

Edit: After listening to the mp3 rips from the disc, it appears it used the same XA audio source files from TR3. That means there is no benefit to getting FLAC rips from this disc since you can rip them directly from the game, effectively recreating a bit-perfect copy of the French disc that way.

At any rate, I've already got FLAC rips of the entire series I did myself, so I could assemble a FLAC package of the exact same tracks presented in the French disc if the OP wants.

That would be cool!

Will do then. I need to name and edit the tag data for the tracks since right now they are just "Track 1", "Track 2", and so on. Do you want just the tracks as listed on the CD, or would you prefer the rest of the tracks from those first three Tomb Raiders? Let me know while I work on the tag data. Cheers!

Edit: By the way, I did some quality comparisons between the music wad of the PC version of TR3 and the PS1 version, and the PS1 version has slightly better audio quality. My rips will be from the PS1 version as a result.

All would be great! Thank you! :)

The whole set is going to take me a while to finish. For now, I have arranged the French package here:

I took the liberty of correcting the wrong track names (they got several of them wrong). But if you want to have a totally authentic "French" experience, you can just rename them back. I'll keep working on the series set in the meantime. Enjoy!

Update: I noticed yet another track that was incorrectly labeled on the French disc, which is track 32. They have it as "The T Rex", but that is not the track that plays when you encounter the T-Rex. The track there is not included on the disc, and the one they are mistaking is normal combat music. I've updated the zip to reflect this, but you don't have to re-download it if you've already got it. This is just an FYI.

Would it be possible for you to upload the FLAC rips of the other games if you have them?

Thanks for this gem
