ive heard plenty of good stuff about FF8, but ive also heard plenty of bad stuff so what im asking is whether or not the game is worth buying. can someone fill me in on what their opinions of the game were

man i think it's worth it. it has a realyy cool plot. characters you can identify with at some point. and plenty other stuff.
i liked it.

All final fantasys are worth it. Besides its only $15 or maybe less.

okay it is hard to get new weapons u have to find all the parts and that includes screws, limit break system is bad for zell, it is good anyway and is fun to kill some time with, it has a cid as always, he is the headmaster of balamb garden, GFs later called eidolons or aeons are cool and it has the most GFs of any game, the way you teach characters skills is by equipping a GF to them, it is a cool game but you should get used to carrying 99 pheonix downs and 99 potions because healing magic is hard to find

Sorry but Its really easy to get healing magic, some boss have some and you can refine it easily, With 5 cottage you can get 100 Curaga at the start of the game.

It's a lot different from any other final fantasy I've played. It's really good plot and very addictive. If by worth it you mean you would enjoy it then yes, it definatley is worth it! :D

I think that it is worth it. Even though many people disagree with me on this I think its one of the best ones. The only one that is better than 8 is 10.

10/10 all ff games deserve this:)
I'll disagree that is easy coz i think is the only ff that monsters have larger level when the characters grow levels
It has an excellent plot though it might confuse u a little:(
and i don't recomend using GFs all the time coz ur Seed level will go down(u'll understand when u are playing the game:P

you guys don't know much, do you?

you can teach your gfs abilities. they allow you to refine pointless magics that are usually dropped by monsters into different magics. learn recov mag ref. you can refine items into magic. i found that cool. so no item is useless.

Really, you don't even need to question, buy it!
After all it is Final Fantasy!

Its my favourite, but as Ive outlined in a few other threads, I haven't really played the first 6 yet so my opinions a bit limited.
But the side quests are really good and the card game is something to get your teeth into. As is collecting all the GF's and getting their various abilities. Particularly Enc-None.

I say get it. if u play it properly then it can stay interisting for a long time. and u could totaly change ur game right arroung each time u play. i wish i had it...but i dont have the money.

I will say, the game is great and worth buying, but very frustrating battle system, the Junction system. I'm a slower learner and it did take me three games to learn how the system works! It will piss you off. It is the most complicated system of FF because it's the most you have to remember.

The love story is great and the game is romantic, and worth seeing! It's worth every penny to buy seeing it! That's the reason why I bought it because Squall and Rinoa caught my eye when I saw it advertised on T.V!
