i've posted about this before on game faq's so some of you may have seen this.
The problem is that i did't find out if this was just me, so im posting about this again....

When i reached to sector 7 slums in the begining of the game i went to the hotel to sleep in the litte kid's room everything was as normal except that when Cloud woke up a message poped up...... .THAT I HAVE LEVELED UP!!!!(And BTW it was excactly right cuz Cloud went from Lv7 to Lv8)

I remember some people posted that they had similiar encounters when their chars were on Low hp or something.

Ill be happy to hear your opinions

:)

The bad thing is that its hard to be figure out if this occures totally randomly or it has something to do with your gameplay .I checked some detailed FF7 walkthrous and there was nothing mentioned about this.verry strange indeed

Wow. That's actually really interesting.

More likely then not, it's a glitch, but it'd be pretty awesome if it was at all influenced by your gameplay.

I don't think i'ts a glitch....the message that apeard was not weird or something.

It was like "you feel better after the nap"

i know what it was....
it was a sign from god!
and he was telling you all...TO GIVE ME LOTS OF MONEY!
...anyway, yeah that was pretty cool. i'm guessing that it was a glitch

I don't know how this is a bad thing, you should be counting your luck, just go to sleep 99 times and voila!

hmm...well im playin now and im past that area of the game and nothin happened. did u do anythin outta the ordinary before u went to sleep in the game? just tryin to figure this out. but like others said, its probably just a glitch.:)

it must have been a glitch, when I did it it has never happened. I'm sure it helped though.

hey, finally somebody else has this happen to them! it happened to me too, it said "you feel more rejuvanted..." weird, huh, my friends and I decided it only happens on a few defective cds but nothing else weird happens throughout the game and the only weird thing happens to actually help you, so but i did the same thing as you, and it only happened once, never did it again.

shame you can't just keep resting and raising your level then, really!

chorns

When you mentioned defective cds i rememberd something. Are you talking about a game's backup disk in witch some of charecter's limit breaks can't execute like i remember Tifa's limit or Red XIII's(well they work but you have to wait some time )BTW it's a good thing that it wasn't just me....Post if you remember something else about it.

i think it's similar, but it only works with the greatest hits version that i know of and it's only every 50th game or so you start, and only on afew cds that we've tried, believe me, we have about 10 copies of the game between me and my friends to try with.

MeandCloud

That is weird its never happenend to me. Though yet ff7 was an un-finished game so there is bound to be glitchs. Did you have a game shark on they usually make the game glitch.
to veiw why ff7 was an unfinished game go to

Well if it actually said "you feel rejuvinated" it can't be a simple glitch. Computers don't make text by themselves that actually makes like that, they would need ai for anything that complicated. My guess is that either purifier or Heavens final samuria was right, it would make sense for the unfinished game thing and a few copies just happen to have that active or something you did activated it. When you have that much unused code weird stuff tends to happen. It would also be that you can gain tiny bits of exp there. That could be in all games or it could just be more unused data. Who knows. Has anyone here tried to see if there exp goes up?
