Maybe this thread isnt the most popular but i really need some help here...i live in Brazil, and its kinda hard to buy games here so you have to be sure if the game is good!
And i have these games in mind
Metal Gear Solid 2

I've never played Winning Eleven 7, but I have played Metal Gear Solid 2 and Gran Turismo 3.

I enjoyed Metal Gear Solid 2, but I don't think it's a fun as the first one. Plus, the game can get really, really weird sometimes- I don't know if that'd be a problem for you or not.

Gran Turismo 3 is a top notch racing type game. It looks fantastic, and it's super, super addictive too.

Some other fun racing type games are Need For Speed: Underground, and Midnight Club 2.

Personally, I had more fun with NFS Underground.

But I still love Gran Turismo 3. ^^

I found NFS Underground disgusting. Everything about it is designed to appeal to and promote the ricer culture. I have serious issues with ricers, by the way. Always driving like asses, thinking they own the road cause they put a big muffler and a useless spoiler on a honda...

Gran Turismo 3 is awesome. I especially love the rally courses. The only problem I had with it was that it had a smaller selection of cars than its predecessor.

If you really like Soccer (football), you'll love Winning Eleven 7. It's probably one of the better soccer games that I've played since International Superstar Soccer. It has a lot of realism to it and it even has a mode where you can pick a European Club Team and manage the team throughout the game.

I also believe that the game offers commentary in several languages, I'm not sure if Portuguese is one of em or not but it does have English commentaries.

My Celica does over 200, so I know first hand that the game does NOT realistically portray that kind of speed. And the stuff you can do to the cars in that game is straight out of the ricer handbook.

Basically, Underground is to racing games what The Fast and the Furious is to racing movies. No relation to reality.

MGS2 is a great game, possibly one of the better games out there. The graphics are great, and the different moves and abilities (like looking/shooting around corners) are very useful. The AI is pretty smart too, and you'll definitely have trouble getting away if you're spotted (unlike MGS where you can kill every guard easily). My only gripe with the game is that the story gets very confusing towards the end, and a certain annoying character.

GT3 is a pretty good game. When you first start off, it's fun and very addictive. However as you get closer and closer to completing the game, the races get longer and harder, and it gets kind of boring. I mean, there is one tournament thing where you have to race in 10 different tracks, and each track has 10-20 laps! So it sort of become boring. Well to me at least. And the licenses are very hard and frustrating to get. But this game can teach you more about cars. Just watch out for the much later races. IMO, NFS:HP2 is the best racing game. I have tons of fun with that game, and I rarely get bored from it. But that's just me.

I haven't played Winning Eleven so I don't know if it's good or not.

If you're still having troubles, you should check out reviews on places like www.ign.com, and probably check on the reader/customer reviews over there and www.gamefaqs.com for more opinions and such.

Actually you might want to consider waiting for GT4 or Winning Eleven 8 International to come out. They're coming out fairly soon and I played a bit of WE8, pretty good stuff.
