Hi everyone. I have been trying to kick these two little bad boys for sometime, and heard that you were invincible against them if you used final attack and phoenix together. I managed after sometime to get final attack materia after discovering that you can slow down the slots in the battle area useing the square button.

However, I am still unable to defeat either of these weapons. :(
Whenever I fight them, the final attack/phoneix combo does actually work, but only once, is it possible for it to work everytime I am killed??

And any advice on attacks that might defeat these two easier???

I am ready to destroy Septhroth (sorry cant spell if that is wrong) but I really want the experience from killing these guys first, and I ready want the set of master materias to use against Septhroth.
Pleeeeeeeeez Help.

Thanks.

For that you need the less damaging but equally useful Final Attack- Revive materia combo. Because, obviously, your Pheonix is only Level 1, you can only use it once, like any other summon. With Final Attack- Revive, as long as you have the MP, you can revive infinite times. However, to be truely effective, it will need to be on everyone, meaning mastery of two Final Attack materias is necessary.

Oh, and for Emerald weapon, the Aire Tam Storm damage goes down with the less materia on you- the damage inflicted is 1111 x materia equipped. (e.g. with 2 materia, it would do 2222 damage.) So if you equip Final Attack- revive and KOTR- W- Summon on one, then Final Attack- revive and mime on the other two, you can attack Emerald for a lot of damage each time, and not get hurt too much. You may want several elixers, megalixers, turbo ethers and x- potions too. And high levels and decent weapons.

To beat Ruby on one of my ancient game i killed my other two character before the battle. Equip Ribbon on Cloud and Final Attack-Revive(Life2),Knights of the Round-HP Absorb, W-summon,Mime. (If you want you can equip Bahamut Zero-Quadra Magic).Equip Cloud with Apocalypse(for the AP). And thats all. When you begin the battle Ruby will not do the Sand thing (i forgot the name) And you have just to W-summon Knights of the Round on him. After he will take his hand in the sand and you have to W-summon on his hand and on him continue this way and you will beat him in no time.

Note: Use Mime because i don't think you mastered Knights of the Round.

Another note: You don't need to heal because of HP absorb.

I hope that will help.

Please, let the mistress tell you. It's all about leveling up. Thats all this is. Just level them up to about level 90 or above.
All it takes is patience. If you a guy, OK, I understand guys have trouble with patience, but really, thats it.

The best tip: instead of Final Attack=Revive, have:

Final Attack=Phoenix. When he kills all of your people, they will all die and phoenix will bring them all back to life on full life. Also use W-Summon and Knights of the Round and them Mime with both characters to cast 6 KOTR, causing 779,922 damage!

I used to think they were hard as hell, but when i recently played the game again they weren't really that hard for me. My levels were in the 80's. I didn't have mime, quadra, or knights of the round when i fought emerald. I just used cloud, cid and tifa, the underwater materia, and went into the fight with all my limits full. I had mastered phoenix and final attack, so cloud could do it 5 times, and i had the others on tifa so should could also do it 2-3 times i forget. but i just went in like that and wooped emeraled pretty easily. Then with the master materias for beating him, I just used w summon knights of the round on ruby and was able to take him out on my 2nd or 3rd try.

For Emerald, read Top Cat's post.

For Ruby:

Link Knights of Round materia with HP absorb, that way after casting it you'll be healed to max HP (even when mimed).

Make sure Cloud is equipped with the Mystile armor, a Ribbon and magic plus materia. Equip him with Enhance sword because it has 8 slots (dont want to waste all that AP).

If Cloud also has mime, and has enough magic defense (high spirit), he shouldn't die. The only thing that should be able to finish Cloud is when Ruby casts Comet2.

If you enter the battle with your two weaker characters dead, Ruby starts off with his tentacles in the ground and won't suck away party members with whirlsand (unless you bring them back to life). Attack the tentacles, you do more damage.

It helps if you beef up Cloud's stats with sources from the sub. Equip Yuffie with the conformer and morph materia, and morph the creatures in the sub to get sources. Its pretty easy to get Luck and Speed sources. If you get your speed high enough it'll be like having permanent Sprint Shoes.

Emerald Weapon. Was pretty darn easy with the "Endless KOTR" trick. I got one character to W-summon KOTR and got the miming process going (I had 3 Mime materias). Emerald only did weak revenge stamps, or the standard Emerald Ray. Big Guard before the start of the Mime process made it easy.

Ruby is the more troublesome of the 2 in that you gotta kill 2 of your characters and then revive them in battle. I'm surprised no one's mentioned the endless Hades + KOTR W-summon trick. Hades "stops" Ruby and is needed...he always counterattacks with Ultima. W-summing Hades + KOTR then mime it. Should be pretty safe although on my 2nd victorious battle, he somehow unstopped himself and I almost got killed!

First attempt was done at lvl 80 summing, 2nd attempt was 70 summing.

All in all, killing the weapons is a waste of time, 14 minutes of non-stop animation and miming. Yet I still do it!

Want a real cheap trick?

Have Cait Sith's limit fully charged, save the game, Go into the battle with Ruby/Emerald, use the Slots limit.

If you don't get the instant win, reset, try again from the save. :D
