Who's the most USEFUL character!?

In my Opinion it would be Dagger 4 her Summon Magic and White Magic(Her attacking sucks though!)

Why would you even bother using her to attack? That not what a white mage is for, infact I wonder why there is even an attack option for her, eiko and vivi.

The most useful characters I find are freya and quina, thier magic and techniques are very unique.

Steiner. I always get deadly blows out of his attacks. Plus he can do sword magic with Vivi.

Eiko is awesome. She has the best curative magic (Curaga, Full Life, and Esuna), the best white magic spell (Holy!), a Trance to exploit that spell (2 Holys!), and useful summons (Madeen and Pheonix). Garnet has nothing on Eiko.

steiner is the strongest i think therefore the most useful to me

He kept Dieing On me when I fought Ark,HE WOULDN'T STAY ALIVE,lol

maybe you didn't level him up.
mine was the strongest of the party and i equipped all the abilities to prevent status changes i could. steiner forever says me hehe

eiko is the most useful she learned curaga at an early stage. plus she knows alot of good whit e magic abilites

Yea,Eiko waz Pretty good 4 me 2!

I got her on Trance,And she gotta use Dbl White magic,3 times(Make that 6)

So she's cool! :)

I personally think Garnet OWNS Eiko. The only W-Magic I use is Curaga and I found that Daggers Summons were alot cooler than Eiko's..But of course I luv Eiko to..

I think Steiner and Vivi together are extremely useful- I always relied on sword magic and Zidane's trances for most of my damage dealing.

the most useful character was vivi all the way. his magic was so powerful alone, and when steiner came in they were an even better team. also when garnet casted reflect (with the x2 thing equipped) that was amazing strong. he works amazing with just about anyone

I agree, with Garnet added to the mix, they're even more powerful.

I really like all the characters, but I can never seem to bring myself to use anyone but Zidane, Vivi, Steiner, and Garnet- they make such an awesome party!

Ididn't like steiner, because hes nothing without vivi. I personally thought Freya was extremely useful. She had a powerful physical attack and a lot of her magic came in quite handy also. I liked her magic because it wasn't JUST healing magic or JUST offensive magic, she had a mix. I also like Dagger and Eiko for the same reason. They have healing magic and summons. Overall I think Freya is the most useful character.

Good party:

Zidane:Freya:Eiko(or dagger):Vivi :) killer

dagger was very useful cus she can summon ark and other cool beings

don't agree. vivi wasn't in my party and steiner was doing just fine.

I have to disagree with that. Steiner does some awesome damage even without Vivi in your party. Sword Magic is just the icing on the cake.

Yea i think steiner was my most powerful character. on top of that he also had all the higher damage abilities such as beast killer or bird eater or whatever which only made him stronger

I think Quina. Her Blue Magic can save a lot of time and they are brilliant especially Mighty Guard.

Quina's blue magic is very useful but its quite anoying trying to find all the right monsters to eat

Freya. her dragon's crest spell does 9999 on anything if u killed enough dragons.

actually, I change my mind, Zidane, because he is useful at everything. Great PHY attacks, great MAG attacks.

heh yeah zidane is good cuz of his stealing ability, high hp, high str ;p you don't even need trance skills later to do 9999 as him. just need high level + ultima weapon.

Amarant for me! He was Useful in that libary thing.
Also Killed The Ark With Him.

Freya she had some killer attacks and was able to cast Regen (so that saved more mp for dagger) and Dagger.

Vivi was also a choice of mine his spells saved my butt a lot.

same here, freya was the most useful to me, then dagger.

Well I must take back about what I said about Dagger and Eiko...Eiko is awesome! I mean her Holy W-Magic always does in the upper 7000's and her Madeen summon does up to 8000 (I'm not even to Terra yet).
I use Zidane, Eiko, Amarant, and Quina ans she seems to do the most damage of all the characters. Add the fact that she can heal all your party members and she just looks better and better.

(By the Vivi Holy isn't the best W-Magic in my opinion. It's probably Curaga or Full-Life cause W-Magic is there for curing and these are the best at it.)

I know that, It just saves my butt when everyone is like on the brink of death. Dagger wouldnt have to use restore magic or curaga unless its critical. I always leave her restorative magic unless i really need to use it. So I always have freya in my party to use Reis Wind

when leveled and much learned, zidane is quite good, and i know you couldnt use her too much, but beatrix was mucho usefull with the attack and defensive spell and kick ass sword and attack rating.

i belive solaris was talking about freya's regen skill. it gives regen to every party members.

freya is amazing. all of her skills are useful. especially if you killed enough dragons, dragon's crest always does 9999 on any monsters including bosses. i always leveled up at grand dragon place so freya got her 9999 damage fast.

Not all of her abilities :p she has that nine dragons technique that drains 2 of your party members to restore her and another party member. I didnt know what it was and I tried it because it didnt give information. That made my battle so much harder ( I was in mt. gulug and had to fight the red dragon bird things)..:(

well yeah that skill sux but most of her stuffs are cool :) she also has a skill that heals mp. and her limit break jump is cool when u have auto-regen and is at low hp lol by the time she comes down she will be full.

Achually to tell the truth,

Freya was never in my party,

Maybe I should level her up lol

So regen still works when she uses jump? thats cool I never knew that one. Oh yes that skill that heals mp is very very useful. Ethers are so hard to come by

-- You should use Freya she is most helpful when your low on ethers and need regen. She is also a great attacker so make sure you kill many dragons to get her Dragons Crest to 9999

I found Eiko had better magic than Garnet, but Garnet had the best summons. i guess i found eiko and steiner the most useful.

Also I found vivi great. If i was low on ethers I would save it for garnet, and use vivi's osmose for himself. Oh that was very helpful :D

the main party i used for my game was zidane, garnet, vivi, and freya :) vivi's doomsday was so fun to use lol it even killed all my party members once.

I had that same party, but I never got the doomsday attack for vivi :(

i had that party to but i replaced Freya with Amarant

maybe next time i play i'll use Freya,

she must be VERY useful to get all these votes lol :D

and freya, if u want her to get strong fast kill many dragons as possible :) i recommend leveling at grand dragon place. she looks cool too when in trance mode. unlike monkey man zidane ;[

the first time I played FF9 through I was lost, I didnt get the best weapons, I didnt level up my characters, because I thought the game was total bollocks.

But after awhile I loved it, and now im playing it again, and the right way.. so i making my characters stronger :D

at the end of the game Zidane was only at level 59 (i had 2 try and beat Necron like 7 times)

so i'm gonna play it agian and level up (and use Freya hehe)

i'm already at mount gulug agian so i can go on from there :D

Necron was a doosy (yea a doosy)

I was lucky to win against him on my first try. I remember he killed vivi and I couldnt revive him. And Dagger kept dieing so I spent my time using Zidane to revive dagger and Freya to attack using dragons crest. In the end only Freya was a live and then finally Kuja took me out of battle.

pure luck and nothing else :p

i was level 88 when i first tried ff9 and beat him ;o just level at grand dragon place till freya can use dragon's crest to 9999 damage then go to memoria.

those dragons are so hard, I tried fighting them when I first reach gizamulukes grotto and was killed, I didnt even save my game before that :erm:

Lesson learned over time. I save my game every time I level up or learn a new abilitie or before boss battles or major FMV sequences.

same here,

i have disk 2,3 and 4 saved (the begginings)

so i can replay anytime! :D

and i save at every save point,

and every time I level up i save :D

I really think shes the most useful characater!! people think she's boring but I really like her.

Anyway, her dragon abilities are realllllly helpful!
