Alright, who here has played Xenogears? I love this game but it seems no one else has played it.

Just in case you don't know, Xenogears is a fantastic squaresoft rpg released in 1998. Its storyline is so rife with religious references and symbolism that it was almost not released in the U.S.A, because it was thought that it would be met by anger from conservatives. Indeed alot of the wording was changed when it was finally released, to "tone it down." It is related to Xenosaga, and is the part of the story that would fit around episode V of the series, which is a prequel.

I've never played it... :-/ I would like to though, after all the things I've heard about it... But I was never into Sci-fi... its all about Fantasy for me! But I would like to play it..

On the other hands, I'm making a research for the RPG Core rules to study the system of this game.:)

Because they took it off the shelves within less than a year of it's release.

I think FF Tactics also has got religious things that some may hate to see, what do you think?

Actually, they re-released it later, didn't they?

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I remember hearing about that.

I don't know, but after that, ebay was the only place I could find it, strange though, maybe your right; because it says "square-enix" on the cover on mine.

Yes, rpgdreamer's has a fairly good review of Xenogears. It's story is simply above and beyond what I expected from a video game. This is what square should make a movie of, not FF7. Actually, that would be awesome � a feature length anime, or better, anime series following the Xenogears story. What do you all think about this?

I'd love to see a Xenogears/Saga inspired anime, personally.

Well considering how most of the people who made Xenogears went off to make Monolith, I guess it would be Namco's decision on that.

I checked. It's a five part series, and Xenogears one fits in as part V. You see it at the end credits, remember? "Xenogears: episode V complete."

Never played Xenogears, but I did play Xenosaga and I thought its a great game. Personally one of the best games I've ever played besides FF.
