Oh it's so much fun! The battle system is in real time and it kicks ass. I haven't tried playing it with other people yet, but it's multi-player too.

Plus, even though I don't think anyone here knows about this joke, the guy who voices Robin from Teen Titans does one of the characters. ^^

Those who have it: Try Wallsprinting all the way up the Empire State Building It can be done. Then Sprint+charged jump off the top and drop almost onto the ground below then hit the webzip to save spidey's tail. That'll put your "Big Drop" stat at max.

Picked up FF Crystal Chronicles for the Gamecube and Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII for the PS2 from laybuy at EB last week.

I just bought Tsugunai: Atonment, for the PS2 and before that I got BattleField: Vietnam for PC.

The last game I bought was Star Trek Shattered Universe. I was bored at the time, and this game was within my price range (At the time, I had a lot of personal issues to sort out, and had only about $20 AUS on me.).

Not bad for a space combat sim, although it could've been way better. I'm getting Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII on Monday (I hope) and then I'll be waiting (and hoping) for Dynasty Warriors 4 Empires to be released.

For me it was Horizons a MMORPG. It's a pretty fun game to play with a great concept and an awesome set if ideas. Unfortunatly it isn't as good as I hoped it to be. I had quite some fun though.

yay!! i got tales of symphonia too! its so awsome so far. the battle system is fun. a friend was over and the multiplayer was interesting. the only bad thing is that when you want to use a different character, if you dont switch the first char to auto again they just sit there and get the crap beat out of them. it's been so long since i've had a good rpg... im deprived.

It's completely different. Dear lord, it's complete crap. You know the whole free-roaming thing? Yeah, they took that out. And climbing to the top of any building? Well, there's now an invisible ceiling. And the combat system. It's one button now. And zipping round the city? You can only do that at certain objects. Sometimes you can't even zip. And the first boss fight gives you a DIAGRAM to show you how to beat it. SO, um, buy it on a console. It's very good there.

I think it was Soul Calibur II for the NGC. Yes, I haven't bought a game for a very long time. Considering Soul Calibur II was a pre-order.

Last game I bought was Street Fighter Anniversary Collection. Even though people say this collection could of had more (to make it into an even... more collection... thing), I think it's good enough since Street Fighter 3 Third Strike is worth the price of admission (30 dollars).

I've never been quite so bored and dissapointed (other than the windwaker) with an RPG before.

I picked up King of Fighters 2000/2001 about a week or so ago.

Super awesome.

It's a million times better now that I've finally coerced Merl into playing with me.

Picked up Dynasty Warriors 4 Empires for PS2 on Wednesday, and have been playing it almostnon-stop in order to take my mind off FFXI.

So much so, nearly all of China is now under the rule of the tyrannical Ka Na Ko Empire! (Ka Na Ko is one of my Edit characters from DW4). Shu is long gone, Wei has just about been swallowed up completely, and only Sun Jian in Wu stands between Ka Na Ko and total conquest. :laugh:

I need to get out more... :o

A buddy of mine and I just picked up Star Ocean: Till the end of time for the PS2 as well as X-men Legends, both are just amazing games

It's really not overrated, in my opinion.

It's not as good as it could have been, but it's an awesome game. The controls and such are dreamy, and the quests are fun, even though you can plow through them too quickly.

Now, to the actual post.

Fable is fantastic. The very atmosphere of the game is so vivid and enticing that I can't see how someone could find it boring. Well, actually, I can. The person who "played" it most likely didn't go far into it. Find me the exact point where they stopped.

The controls, as Ndi said, are amazing. Being able to swing and hit multiple enemies at once, effortlessly switching between spells that slow time, berserk you, charge you into them, or just electrocute them, then rolling back and shooting them with arrows is brilliance.

I can't see, also, how somebody can't be taken in by the story. The Stargate-SG1ish theme (that's constantly mixed in with one of the best scores in gaming history) is used to great affect, not to mention the mural-esque paintings that they further the plot with. Albeit the ending left me a little cold, the rest of the game is so unstoppably fun and engrossing that I can't see how anyone would consider it boring.

I'm actually trying to work out what's overrated about it. It's the best RPG I've played in years. Everything fits together so lovingly, and it feels very lionhead. Yes, it has problems, but bring me an RPG that doesn't have them. If you say FF7, I'll laugh heartily.

Coincidentally! I order MK Deception right before I came to this thread... wowzer. (and Gradius V) gamestop ordered free shipping so I was like ok.. I hope they have the Baraka cover like I've heard.. he is a badass. =)

I bought Fable yesterday - it was only just released in Australia.

I didn't play much, because i'm still in the middle of Star Ocean 3, but so far it seems good - my only gripe is the lack of 'wow' factor. Combat is intuitive and fun, and archery is very reminiscent of Ocarina of Time.

I can now add three games which I recently got:

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga-I'm stuck in this game, so I haven't played it for about a week.

Super Mario Advance-I still enjoy throwing vegetables down Wart's throat.

Mario Golf: Advance Tour-I like how you can make your characters stronger by placing well in tournaments and completing other side-quests, etc.

Today i bought yet another great title Moetal Kombat Deception for the ps2 and i get wasted online lol

Me and my bro purchased Onimusha Blade Warriors just a while ago (i have onimusha buraiden but since it's in japanese i decided to buy an english version). i find it really cool and i've always been a big fan of onimusha

I was having another moment of Nintendo 64 nostalgia, so I popped out and picked up a pre-owned copy of Super Mario Sunshine - i honestly don't know why people didn't like this game as much as Super Mario 64. It's brilliant - introducing more 2D mario elements (riding Yoshi, climbing on those gate thingies and punching enemies on the other side) into the 3D mario world.

Great fun. And the music is brilliant - in the first Gelato Beach mission, inside the Sand Castle, is the BEST version of the Mario Theme I have ever heard.

Just got it. There's a scene where you see one of your friends drowning in a pool. She keeps saying "help help! glub glub glub(because of drowning) And the main character was just looking at her saying "ahn! ahn!" then after about a minute of this the girl died.


I'm hoping there's a way to save her and I just don't know it, otherwise that's gotta be the weirdest thing ever.

Finally beat Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door in about 45 hours. I know this is off topic, but I stongly suggest any GCN owner to purchase this game as soon as possible. A lot better than the first one, and is IMO a Top 3 game for the system thus far with plenty more excellent titles on the way.

Lately all I've been buying are XBox Live cards so I can go online on my 360. Haven't bought a new game in a while.

Rogue Galaxy. Good game so far. I like the battle system.

I got mario 64 today.
from ebay of course.

ive never actually played it before properly, but i own super mario sunshine and i must say it's like the same thing but without all the pointless crap.

Is Rogue Galaxy, so far, worth every dime you spent?

I bought Star Wars: Bounty Hunter for �6 and Blood Omen 2 for �3 yestaday. Admittedly I know Blood Omen 2 isn't one of the best games, but it was cheap and I liked it previously.

I bought Kingdom Hearts II and The Legend of Spyro:A new beginning,one month ago.They're awesome.But I haven't finished them.

I've purchased 'Metroid Prime 2: Echoes' online just around a week ago.

FFXII (US version), from a local game store that sells import games, about two months ago. At the moment, I'm stuck on that bloody airship Leviathan. :mad:

I also got a mint boxed copy of FFI on the NES through eBay recently too, but I guess that doesn't really count.

Budget buys: Primal and Legend of Kay. Both for the PS2.

I got Phoenix Wright for the DS, but I kinda returned it the next day.

I've preordered FFXII, it's going to be released the 23th of February here.

I only played it for about 2 hours. I think its good so far. I cant comment on the story well because I only played for 2 hours lol. The fighting system consists of pressing the X button to attack in the same fashion as kingdom hearts, and the square button I believe fires off your ranged weapon. The battles are random (even in the towns) but a warning screen flashes and your thrown into the fight right away. No load times in battles or going into buidlings. There are no magic healing spells. You have to heal using only items. You cant conrtol your party members just like in FF12, but they will suggest what they want you to do. For example, the robot steve is at about 20 percent health, and suggestion will pop up saying use a full heal. If you press the L1 button at that time, you will use the suggested item and heal that character. You level up after gaining Xp but you gaiun abilities using the revelation board which is really similar to the license board found in FF12. Each ability consists of a series of boxes or slots and you fill in the items need to complete the box. As soon as a box has been filled with all the required items, you gain that ability.The graphics which are cel shaded look really good. This makes the game one of the best looking that Ive seen on the ps2. Ill pm you later after I play the game some more if you want. Or if you have any more questions, fell free to pm me and ask them. Last one I officially bought..? FFIVGBA - the rest are have been presents. Right now I am just before Zeromus - my team consists of Yang, Cecil, Kain, Rosa and Rydia.

As for actual game purchases inside a retailer, it would be Final Fantasy III DS. It's a nice title, but there was quite a bit that could have done to make the game better. Still worth a rental or two. But the last game I actually paid for was downloading The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past to my Wii. I'll be getting Final Fantasy VI Advance next Tuesday.

My wife is buying me ff6 for vtines day. Next week I will be playing nothing but ff6 on my train rides to work lol.

Last game I bought was Xenosaga II, last weekend, because I have just recently beaten Xenosaga I. Yeah, I'm a little late in the whole Xenosaga phase... Better late than never. :\
