do u think that they would make an PRG of the lord of the rings and if they did what do u think it would be like?:D

I think it is a somewhat good idea to make "A" LOR game. but it shoudn't be based on the book/movie. It should be based on some hobbit that meets a lot of the same chacters as the book/movie do.

IN my PS2 magazine there is a rumour about a gme of Fellow ship of the rings and its supposedly coming out at the same time as the second movie so november december time it should be released if i get a chance i will scan it and you can see

It wouldn't feel right to release a Lord Of The Rings game before all of the films are out IMO. The trilogy is so closely meshed together that the endings would seem anti climatic. So long as they stick close to the storyline, it should be a good game, just like the film was good because it stuck to the book.

On another note, there was a Lord of the Rings game for the SNES... Although I don't think it was any good.

I have found most games made after movies have been pathetic. Good examples are:


Total Recall (NES)
Back to the Future 1 2 and 3 (nes)
Judge Dread (SNES and/or Gameboy)
True Lies (SNES and/or Gameboy)

Actually those are hte only ones I can think of right off but I know there is more.

Yes they are making a LOTR RPG or adventure game I believe for PC. I think it will come out for X-Box too.

for a game this big it is obvious they will do an all format release

A bunch of lotr games are allready being made, by 3 different companies. I think that EA is making games based on the movie liscence, the first game they release is supposed to be an action/adventure where you control Aragorn through the first movie and part of the second movie. And I believe universal has the rights to the lotr books, so they are making games from that liscense. And has the liscense to make games from the hobbit, so there is another one. I might have named the wrong companies, but I know that at least those three games are being made right now.

Wow i think a lotr game would be really cool and set kinda like the final fanatasies with the main chacracter setting out for a mission across the world and that....

It was the SNES, I know cause I got it :)

Not a GREAT game, but not bad...

They've already made a Lotr text based roleplaying game, and games workshop have a tabletop Lotr battle game
