Heres a poem i found about Child Abuse. Its really sad cause stuff like this does acctually happen.

My name is Sarah

I am but three,
My eyes are swollen
I cannot see,
I must be stupid
I must be bad,
What else could have made
My daddy so mad?
I wish I were better
I wish I weren't ugly,
Then maybe my mommy
Would still want to hug me.

I can't speak at all
I can't do a wrong
Or else I'm locked up
All the day long.
When I awake I'm all alone
The house is dark
My folks aren't home
When my mommy does come
I'll try and be nice,
So maybe I'll get just
One whipping tonight.

Don't make a sound!
I just heard a car
My daddy is back
From Charlie's Bar.
I hear him curse
My name he calls
I press myself
Against the wall
I try and hide
From his evil eyes
I'm so afraid now
I'm starting to cry
He finds me weeping
He shouts ugly words,
He says its my fault
That he suffers at work.

He slaps me and hits me
And yells at me more,
I finally get free
And I run for the door.
He's already locked it
And I start to bawl,
He takes me and throws me
Against the hard wall.
I fall to the floor
With my bones nearly broken,
And my daddy continues
With more bad words spoken.
"I'm sorry!", I scream
But its now much too late
His face has been twisted
Into unimaginable hate
The hurt and the pain
Again and again



Oh please God, have mercy!
Oh please let it end!
And he finally stops
And heads for the door,
While I lay there motionless
Sprawled on the floor
My name is Sarah
And I am but three,
Tonight my daddy
Murdered me.

Yeah i dont know who it was by or anything but either way, i find it really sad.

I find it very hard to believe that this "Sarah" person is only three years old.

...that's not the point, the point pf the poem is about child abuse, and how it is very real.

It's sad. Sad to read and really sad to think that stff like that actually happens. (Not that I didn't know that -.-') But just imagine how those kids feel...

sigh..... It takes all kind of ppl to make the world..... Life is tragic and the only way we can make it better is by spotting this cases and stopping them when we can........ We can do it!!

i find it easy to belive that this sarah person is three years old by the way that this poem is writen. but yes it is very sad that that stuff happens. but i think that it could have been written in a better way to express that. but it is sad:(

That really took me by the heart... Because we all know this happens everyday... Man,we really have to stop that... Not that I think we'd be able to do something... But it's always worth the try,isn't it? We got to stop (excuse the 'bad word') bastards like that man. Yeah,that was a really sad poem you got there. Terrible,I should say. But what's even more terrible is that it's as if the child thought it was his/her fault. I can't bear that...

that is one depressing poem men or women like that should be shot poor children
