Which do you prefer: FFX or FFX-2. cause i heard the fighting was different.

I prefer FFX, though FFX-2 does have many good points to it.

In a way I feel that the story in X-2 is a bit cheap and made up. They could've quite easily thought of a different story.

The fighting's a welcome change, dresspheres and all. Quite a unique system.

Macalania woods is just after the thunder plains.

Besaid (+Temple) > Kilika (+Temple) > Luca > Mi'ihen Highroad > Mushroom Rock Road > Djose Highroad (+Temple) > Moonflow > Guadosalam > Thunderplains > Macalania woods > Lake Macalania (+Temple) > Bikanel Desert > Bevelle (+Temple, Via Purifico) > Macalania Woods > Calm Lands* > Mt. Gagazet > Zanarkand* > Sin

Well, of course I prefer FFX, now one of my favorite games.

I've never seen a game like this, that had so much emotion in it. From beginning to end, I was enthralled to keep playing. It pulled me in, and wouldn't let me take my hands off the controller. There has never been such a strong love connection between two people, as with Tidus and Yuna. And what an amazing twist, that Tidus turns out to be just a dream! It is hard for me to describe why I think this game is extremely high on my list. I would have to sit down and really think how I would phrase it, and I'll...do it later.

FFX-2 was a good game, but nowhere near as good as FFX. Square-Enix did not put enough time into this sequel, and it showed. I don't like the fact you only get to play with three characters, and there are barely any appearances by the other main characters from FFX. Tidus, Wakka, Lulu, and Kimahri.

That being said, I think FFX-2 is a good game, but FFX is a truly outstanding achievement.

Storywise I like Final Fantasy X better.

However, I love the battle system in FFX-2 !

Both of the games have their strong points and their weak points. Final Fantasy X has a linear storyline, but with oodles of extras hidden within. Plus it has Auron.

Final Fantasy X-2 allowed you to get around the world any way you want, with a lot of side missions and exploration to be done. Plus it has Paine.

So overall, I am not really sure...

Storywise, FFX. But X-2 was fun, and the battle system is great!

FF X was a lot better. It has a better storyline and (like Smokey said) it has a lot of emotion in it. And its so dramatic sometimes. This makes it look more real. I love that! :)

FF X-2 didnt have that good of a story. Almost the whole game is made out of sidequests and minigames. This looks like, Square was running out of ideas. And the game had too much fun in it, too. Singing and dancing here, singing and dancing there, everybody is just happy all the time....... Sorry, a bit too much for me! And only 3 partymembers.....a bit boring. :(

FF-X is one of my favorites, because of the story, the people, the music ....just everything.

FF-X-2 is one of the worst to me (sorry, that I have to say that, but thats my opinion)..... :(

i agree with smokey. ffx was hard to top. in fact i think that it is the best game that i have ever played. the story line is so great. i could turn it off. every thing about it. the music really set the mood also. it had amasing music that just fit with the whole atmosphere of the game. ffx-2 was a big disapointment to me. i mean it was cool and all, but ffx was so deep and everything then in ffx-2 it is like singing and dancing and like being all happy and so on. there just wasn't as much to it as ffx. but i have to say that i really liked the fighting system, the dresspheres were a cool idea. but that was about the only thing that that game had going for it. so i say ffx

I disagree.,...although FFX was fantastic...I thought FFX-2 improved on it so much better...it gave you:

1) a better battle system

2) better quality FMV sequences (I.E. 1000 words)

3) a more appealing storyline that love conquers all

4) better character design

FFX-2 started off light and happy....but if you get further into the game, it progresses in a more traditional FF way and becomes much darker.

maybe.. .but i just dont think it had a better storyline.. i mean FFX just had so much content int he story that included about 3 storys in one lare one about peoples interactions with one another and just this great story line about Sin. I really dont think it could be repeated..(my opinion)

first i agree with the battle system
second even though it has a reall good fmv sequence but there r like 5 in the whole game not includint the ending.
the whole love conquers all thing is so cheesy some times. i think that it could have been presented in a better way. i mean the first one was so deep and like just used emotion in such a perfect way, all emotions not just all like love, ahhhhhhh how cute. the story line in the second is just really not as good no matter what.

Well, FFX had the sphere grid system in place. In my opinion, the sphere grid allowed more freedom of the customation of various characters. On the other hand, FFX-2 had the traditional level system. So, in that aspect, I believe FFX was superior. Also, the ability to switch weapons and characters in FFX was a great help to me, and was a very unique feature. In terms of elements of the game, the story of FFX was the original, and didn't have as many sidequests as FFX-2, but it made up for that with the gameplay. However, FFX-2 introduced the dressphere system, and you could only play with three characters. Yet, I found myself never having diffuculty with only three characters. In conclusion, I believe that FFX was the better game (whew....)

X is so much better than X-2, everything is good in10 instead of only the fighting in 10-2.

See how I see it is that FFX-2 is a GREAT game but if you're comparing it to FFX(which a lot of people do) you think thats its worse than it already is! Why you ask?? Cause FFX is one of the best games ever!

i pefer FFX manily as getting the extra aeons ie anima and then playing against seymour flux and watching him seal it from battle was funny:), FFX-2 brought a fresher story line but i feel that ffx had the more interesting story line even though it was simple and we all knew after auron said that sin is ur dad what was going to happen lol

in conlusion i like ffx better as finding extra aeons or getting enough gil for yojimbo's instant kill is cool and ffx has a longer gameplay.

FFX-2 was way too short, it took me less than a week of not alot of playing. FFX on the other hand takes ages.

FFX-2's Japanese Nutbaggery will either charm the pants off you or set your teeth on edge ....which is a real shame cos it is a good solid RPG

I like both games, I mean, think about it... It's the second game of FFX and Square knew they're FF fans would be upset that Tidus faded, so they tried to make a game on mostly Yuna and a way to get Tidus back, right? It's a great game, sure, but how much could they add? It's a sequel.

Yuna and group become songtresses, it's a 'simple' easy story to work off of in time for the FFX fans to be satisfied...

Me? I just wanted to find out if Tidus came back ... I am totally satisfied... :swoon:

FFX was the first FF game I ever played and so now I'm working on FF VII, I have to admit, so far, I'm in love with it ^^

FFX-2 was a disapointment. I don't want a Charlie's Angels style FF game! I'd sooner want a Dead or Alive Xtreme or WWE: Rumble Rose style FF game! FFX is clearly the superior.

FFX made me cry, FFX-2 made me laugh.
I guess it depends on emotions in some ways.

I loved FFX for the storyline, it flowed SO well, and for the Dark Aeons. I didnt like how structured and linear the story was at times, but i guess it wouldnt have worked any other way. One thing that REALLY annoys me know is leveling up your characters. Its BORING. Same music, same baddies, same attacks. And the worst thing? After x amount of battles the characters stop making battle cries. It sucks.

However, I loved FFX-2 for it's replay value and how comprehensive it was. the dress sphere system is great and extended the game play time alot. The Percentage system also does this, and though the storyline is boring in parts, it is entertaining.
The graphics were also signifigantly better. As was the soundtrack. Multiple endings were also a plus.

To spite all these things, I still think FFX was better, only because it touched me personally and I feel a connection to it.
