Hey, you know what would be awesome? A Super Smash Brothers game with different Final Fantasy characters! I think that there should be at least 25 characters and at least 20 stages to play on. I think that it could be done, aside from the licensing obstacles and whatnot.

sounds friggin awesome as i have just voted, twould be fun to see cloud biff sephiroth and make him spin in the air and shit, but i digress, i doubt they would actually make one of these, but if they did ill be here saying "OH HELL YEAH!!!!"

Oh yeah, that's what I'm talking about. I'm picturing things like Sephiroth versus Auron or Cloud versus Squall or something like that. I was thinking that perhaps if this idea gathers enough steam, perhaps we can send a petition to Square and request such a game. I know that it's a long shot, but I can dream, right? Well, anyway, I had the idea for this game yesterday while I was playing Super Smash Brothers Melee and Advent Children popped into my mind. I was like "Oh, that would be friggin' awesome! Not to mention that it would probably sell like hotcakes." I honestly think that it would sell big-time if it was made.

That would be awsome! I think the creator should do that.

I was looking for a reason as to why it would suck. "Why not?" is not a reason. Something maybe like "I think it would suck because it would just be ripping off Super smash Brothers to make some quick cash." Which, I don't know that it really would. I wouldn't buy it if it sucked. But yeah, "Why not?" is not a good enough reason, methinks.

Its a good idea but you could also create a Tekken Style FF, in which there you play as a MAIN character from the FF series nd you can level him up and get him to lern new spells and stuff ike that. ....Erghiez or whatever doesnt count as one thats already been made either.

Or maybe even a Dynasty Warriors styled FF, you run around trying to control the place and defeat the other sides army.... imagine Clouds army with generals lke Tifa, Barret and Cid going up against Presidenst Shinras army with generals like Rufus, Heidegger or the Turks.

cross over games are always made crap though because the companies that make them know that they won't get it to sell much and so don't invest in it.

hhhmmmm....sage has a point, some originality plus some generic bashing is needed for this game to even get off the cutting room floor, how about limit breaks? heres my limit break idea:

not my best idea but this is it, when ur at like oh i dont know
20-30% life u get a chance to do your characters special move(limit break) and u only get one shot at it and if it connects u do like oh i dont know lets say somewhere between 40-60% damage to your opponent, this would add in a risky yet effective strategy of lettin ur opponent hit u more then u hit them and WHAM! instant win, but if ur not good that strategy wouldnt work now would it? ;)

Yeah, originality is good. Simply slapping a lisence on a game idea never works out well, but there is nothing wrong with taking a successful game formula and using it in a different world. Hell, they can make Pokemon: Plaid and people will buy it, and that GTA-style Mafia game worked out pretty well, so a FF volleyball, or Dynasty Warriors, or Supersmash adaptation could very well be a quality game.
