Tell me all the FF7 fans out there, how many of u hated the scene with Aeris's Death??? I sure did. I actually cried. Also did u cry?

Nah I didn't cry, I just watched...I think I smiled alittle, but that was it, wasn't really affected by it. Aeris wasn't part of my main party anyway, so I considered her quite weak.

I definately cried. I hated it. I always wished it would have happened to Cait Sith or somethin. I was so mad I hated sephiroth with a passion. hah

WHAT!!!!! I thought she had a major connection with Cloud and they had a relationship, i thought she was pretty helpful for healing and she was mostly good for magic but she was cool.

LunaticHighVII, Me too! the 2nd 1 by me was for Diorama. Aeris Rocks doesn't she???!!! Did you know Aeris might be ressurected in ff7 advent children? I really wanted Cait Sith 2 die.

Cait Sith did die, a replacement just came along. And yeah Aeris might be revived for Advent Children (kinda makes the end of FF7 pointless then.) Aeris just annoyed me, far too 'prissy,' and came off as abit of a know it all, also I thought Sephiroth was pretty damn cool by the time her death came along.

I didn't cry, I didn't leap for joy, I just kind of sat there thinking...

Aeris rocked. Yes sephiroth was cool, but killing Aeris was too much! I always wanted her in my party, but never actually used her because she was very weak physically in battles. One game I actually did use her and i got her final limit and she became VERY strong. Maybe she is weak, but she is a kind person. (here i am talking as if shes real :)

Really they might ressurect her?? That would kind of ruin the whole point of final fantasy VII, but I still hope she does! I don't think she was annoying, I think Tifa lovers think that shes annoying.

I preferred Tifa to Aeris, but didn't think too much about Tifa either. Aeris was just more annoying, though Tifa at certain points in the game was drawing with Aeris in mental weakness.

I meant that it would ruin the story, because after her death it kept the party going to get revenge for her. Also, I was thinking about how she couldn't make the connection with the planet and holy if she didn't die, and bringing her back would just kind of take that all away. How would they ressurect her anyway? If she came back it would just be... well weird I guess.

I agree. Aeris dying made me go 'meh'. She was never in my main party, and until the Temple of Ancients (when she automatically levels up) she was at level 9. She was just so prissy, as you also said. It annoyed me.

And before you say it, I'm not a Tifa lover... in fact, my main party was Cloud, Cid (Barret until you got him) and Red XIII.

The scene of Aeris got killed by Sephiroth is a twist in the story. And you should know that every story got a twist. The bigger the twist, the more interesting the story be!

Well, I basiclly hate the twist in the story. The game developers should've planned Aeris to be revived by Clould in the story.....but they did'nt!

This is the only reason on why i hate this game! Such a kind-hearted person should'nt deserves to die like that,

I cried, and it really got to me as well, killing her off for "the good of the Planet", and then it turns out she nearly did more harm to the Planet summoning Holy than if she'd just stuck with Cloud and the rest of them.

Hmm...I sat there with tears streaming down my face and ran for tissue paper. It was a big shocker to me as I never expected her to die...I needed her for the whole entire game since her limit breaks are so damn good.
And to those who found Aeris annoying....Tifa was much worser than that. She could of at least move on with her life instead of needing someone to latch onto. Telling me she was annoying just because she was open-hearted is such an excuse. At least when the group was so super quiet over one damn lousy incident...Boo-hoo-hoo...We're such losers and I don't wanna talk about it.... Aeris will step in to make others think of something else or have fun.
Anyway, if there's a small chance that Aeris will get revived in AC or whateva...I think that would be great and its not like the story will get ruined. But I doubt it might even be in there...although I can still hope that it might be...with a tiny speck of luck.:erm:

I want it 2 happen too in AC. We can only hope. I saw the trailer and there is a flashback with Cloud lowering her in the water so i don't know.

Yeah! I wanna see Aeris again...not in flashbacks but...herself again. I just hope AC doesn't give a cliffhanger ending too like in FF7. Its just small wishful thinking...but hopefully Aeris will played a role in AC and not in flashbacks.

I disliked the scene with Aerith's death myself. I didn't cry because I know they're not real, but I did frown and make a sad face through the scene. That would be cool if Aerith got resurected, but unfortunetley I heard she doesn't.

But if they do make an FF7-2, don't give up hope, possibly she might get ressurected! Either that or they'll just make it optional. Don't give up hope!

Yes, i hated it but it had to happen for certian things to happen later. So its understandable, after you beat the game.

Yeah, it's not as if I sat there and cried my eyes out, but it was one of those things, and i don't know about anyone else, but up to that point, i didn't really hate Sephiroth too much...but after he killed her, I was more then happy to direct all my attention to completly ruining his plans of destroying the world. Plus, it just made the game that much better, since now you hated Sephy more then ever, even if you used her or not, you still just watched a member of your party die.

and if anyone decided to get her final limit breaker, they had an even bigger beef, since there goes all the work you just went thru to get it for her, AND IT WORKED SO WELL TOO!!

P.S. - it was also kind of a cool thing that when everything in the game came to the point where all you had left to do was go kick sephy's ass, if you go back to the slums and go to her church, you get to see something thats really quick, but enough to make you angry again for your final fight with Sephiroth ;)

I did get Aerith's last limit and it was awsome! It would've been so useful against the Weapons!

I still love Sephy and Aerith though. I don't hate good ole' Sephy because he intended to destroy the world anyway. I love Aerith and good ole' Sephiroth!

No problem Aerisfreak91! Hopefully they will make a second game and she will get resurrected! I always thought they should make the sequal a game anyway.

Sorry to say it but its unlikely she'll ever get resurrected, it would spoil the ideal of Aeris. She was killed as a marytr, "for the sake of the Planet", so they would probably never revive her as it would destroy everything she stood for, despite dying and nearly destroying the Planet, as opposed to saving it...

Its just a speck of hope that Aeris would get revived..but its obvious she might not. Oh well....you can still hope and sees if it happens. Its not like the story would get ruined if Aeris was resurrected....I mean, what if she still lived. They would still kicked the crap out of Sephiroth and saved the world either way. Its either you win with everyone, you lose with everyone or you win by losing something important for that cause of which was unexpected.

I think the story would be ruined if Aeris was revived, I mean I'd love her to be revived, but she was killed off as a martyr, it would be defeating logic to revive her, thus ruining the ideal of her death in the first place, making her somewhat less special...

Actually I did cry........it was very sad.It makes you feel like kicking fucking sephiroths ass from here to his super nova attack.But he is still very cool.

I can say that i did cry, my friend decided he would spoil the first disk for me and showed me the clip where Sephiroth stabs her. I turned to look at him and i just started crying and saying that sephiroth was so mean. But of course, Sephiroth is one of my favorite characters. And so was Aeris, but i didn't expect her to die...when i actually got to that part in the game it didn't make me as sad as when i first saw it.

Actully, out of the group, the one i am most impressed with is cloud. anyone who has played and beat Kingdom Hearts 100% get to see a little treat, and see exactly what cloud goes thru to try and see Aerith again, and it's amazing, i actully dropped a tear watching kingdom hearts more then watching Final Fantasy 7 when she was killed, just cause it's amazing how much more into the chaaracter you get to see.

For anyone who wants to know what happens, when you are playing the game, when you enter the hades tournament, you actully get pitted against CLOUD! he is working for hades trying to stop you, and in exchange, cloud will be allowed to leave hell (he fought thru heaven to get down to hell looking for her) and he would then be allowed to search and find her.

but then once you beat cloud, you are to finish the tournament, and cloud actully helps you if i remember correctly, but later on, you meat up with Tifa, Leon (who is actully Squall from Final Fantasy 8) and, believe it or not...AERITH!!! so you do get to see her again, and if you beat the game 100% you watch as cloud again meets up with Aerith, and that was the point that made me almost cry, because his arm is now mangled, and his hand is replaced by like a metal hand with sharp fingers sort of thing, and she sees him and they both walk up too each other and hug

sorry, i just think it shows relevence since we are talking about Aerith and Cloud and all :D

Um as far as i know Aeris is in KH but she is a NPC. and she goes by the name of Aerith. but i havent played that game for a while so i could be wrong.

Kingdom Hearts is still an RPG but it's another type of RPG as it is more realtime-based rather than turn-based (FF7 is turn based).

Kingdom Hearts has a lot of story in it, don't confuse it for platformer like Super Mario Bros or something, it's pretty much an RPG like all the other RPGs out there.

Do you think Mandy Moore was good for Aeris?? I did she had this sweetness 2 her voice.

Considering that I don't like teen idols, no. I was horrified after I found out she did her voice. Aerith is too good for any teen idol.

All the voice actors did VERY well in Kingdom Hearts and they did all their jobs quite nicely. I don't know everyone who did the voices for Kingdom Hearts and heck, I didn't like the kid (himself) who did Sora but he did quite a nice job and I cannot and would not negate that fact.

It was funny that Lance Bass was Sephiroth but all you really hear him say is Sin Harvest and that's it. Personally, I'm disappointed that he doesn't say anything beyond that but even to this day, there are those who refuse to play this game because Lance Bass is in it... dispite him saying only one line and a few grunts.

Well I know I wouldn't refuse to play it because of Lance Bass doing Sephiroth. If anything, I refuse to play the game because they put Yuffie in it instead of Tifa. That just kind of shows the makers don't like Tifa as much (Gggrrrrr). But if anything, just that reason. I just can't see Lance Bass doing a sinister voice, and I can't see Mandy Moore doing a flowery sweet voice.

Honestly, I wouldn't see Tifa fitting in that well in Kingdom Hearts, mostly because I don't see Tifa as being too light hearted as well as Yuffie and Aeris. The two in the game act differently compared to FF7 but they are still some what identical to their counterparts. Tifa in KH would kinda throw things off as Tifa isn't presented that much in FF7 beyond someone that cares for Cloud and can beat up anything... and Cloud is alone in KH.

And plus I think her boobs would change the E rating to a T.

That's why I refuse to play Kingdom Hearts. I think she wouldn't be bad in KH. Well I better get back on topic on Aerith's death. If we get this mixed up with the Tifa vs. Aerith thread, it will be closed and no one would want that yet. Aerith death was sad, becuase Tifa learned alot from her. Tifa's got a kinder heart than Yuffie! Yuffie stole, and they shoulda put Tifa in it instead. Tifa's nicer than Yuffie.

I�m sorry, no I don�t, because there is so much shit out there. And I don�t like to buy games, if they could disapoint me. I like RPG and stradegy-games. I cried when Aeris died i'm a very emotional person.

Kingdom Hearts, in it's full total form, is an RPG. Those that hate Kingdom Hearts are those who really just don't want to experience their childhood memories any more and want something else. I was an avid watcher of Disney Movies and still am. :(

As for Square Enix and Squaresoft. Squaresoft and Enix merged... now Enix didn't make a total huge impact in the US (mostly because their games wouldn't be accepted by many Americans since they are more Japanese/traditional RPG based) but with the help of Squaresoft, we might be seeing more of their games in America. An already established series from Enix exists here in the US, known as Star Ocean, anyone who likes a Sci-Fi Twist to their RPGs will like this one.

Hmm....I never saw Tifa in KH. I'm pretty sure it was Yuffie and Yuffie alone when she's talking to Sora and the others. Yuffie is not a brat...no...she was a cool ninja who had dreams of reviving Wutai back to its former glory among many other dreams. Tifa was not the only one who learned something, basically, everyone who was ever with Aeris learned something new, including Yuffie. Yuffie just acts tough on the outside with an attitude but I bet in the inside, she's very sweet and caring.
I played KH and absolutely love it because of Cloud, Aeris and Yuffie. Just because they didn't put Tifa in there doesn't mean they hate her. I think they were trying to solve the love that Cloud had in FF7. Like it was stated in KH, Cloud was looking for his light just as Sora was looking for his.

That's why Cloud told Sora not to lose sight of his light as Sora told Cloud that he'll find his light. Meaning Aeris was Cloud's Light and Kairi was Sora's Light.

I saw Aerith's last limit and it was good! I like it when she summons these angles to heal her party and make them invincible! Every fighter needs a medic!

i had a felt real sad and a tear went down my face . i didnt noe it was coming . i thought it was kinda stupid that they forgot about like they cried then the game went normal they should of had a funeral or some crap like that :(

Well, at the end of Disc 1, you can see they kinda did, when Cloud set her body in the holy water, the rest of the party watches(you can't see it, but why wouldn't they, duh right?), and they pay their last respects to her!

but they just contenue the story right away with out saying her name like nothing happend :(

Well, they had to continue the story without bringing Aeris back up too much. Cloud almost quit his quest after Sephiroth killed her, but decided not to.

I guess bringing her back up would only make Cloud more depressed or something.

I understand what you mean. They were not talking that much about Aeris. But I think the others didn�t want to talk about her, because they didn�t want do make him sad. And Cloud didn�t talk about it that often, because I think he wanted to handle the pain with himself. A lot of people don�t get along with there emotions. ;)

I have no problem with accepting other people's opinions, but it's also okay to have feelings for a good character. We just have feelings for Aerith, there's nothing wrong with that! And my opinion is that I think it's sad that anyone would laugh at someones death.

Actually I didn't cry or feel anything at all when I saw aeris die because a couple of punk fan boys in my school ruined it for me two days before I actually got to that scene!!! Damn you fan boys!!!

Nah im not like that in real life. Its only a video game so that the only reason why i laughed. GTA:3/VC is good for just having a laugh and killing a few people.

Like i said i hold nothing against Aeris, i just found it funny that she died. Sure it might have been me laughing to cover up what i really felt about the whole ordeal. Well thats all i have to say.

I didn't cry. I just watched the scene. I dont know why Cloud liked Aeris so much. I think Tifa was way cooler...and hotter...LOL. He would alway focus on Aeris through the whole game. Aeris way too hyper and perky but I thought she was cool.

When Aeris died I started to cry, because she was my favorite character. :(

Tifa was aight, but if Aeris was more wild she would be better. Anyways on a show Aeris beat Tifa for best Final Fantasy heroine. :D

1.She's a good fighter
2.She dresses stylish
3.She's a good friend to Aerith and Cloud
4.She chose to be friends with Aerith rather to fight with her over Cloud.

6.She does her best to cheer others up when they're down.
7.She took good care of Cloud helping him find himself.
8.Her limit skills pack a wallop!
9.She has the same ups and downs as me.

I like Tifa automatically just because shes hot...LOL. She also is a good character to use because of her Limit Breaks and overall power. Aeris is awsome because of her limit breaks also. She can do Great Gospel which most people don't use because she dies before you can use the item. It makes you invicible for a certain amount of time and what TifaGirl said, she had some good points

Out of everyone's limit breaks, tifa,cloud and aeris have the best.cloud because, theyre really strong and cool looking.tifa because theres so many and you can do them all at once, as opose to only using one.tifas are actually 7 times better than evryone elses and thay look cool!Aeris because she is the only one who is fully dedicated to helping and healing the party all the time.Just goes to show that she is the most thoughtful and nice character of them all!;)

Yup, like I said, every fighter needs a good healer! Fighter + Healer= Defense and Offense combo!!

Tifa and Aeris always have been my favorites in the team. Because it is a good mix. :)

well tell me if i get it wrong.in the ending, holy is finally freed and goes to stop meteor.but it got there too late and it starts to weaken and give in to meteor. everyone thinks all hope is lost when the lifestream takes action!i don't know why the lifestream shows up, maybe because the peolpe in the lifestream(their souls or spirit energy or whatever it is)they act for themselves and go to help holy.holy and the lifestream work together and they protect the planet from meteor.

i thought holy helped meteor because Midgar was draining lifestream so it helped Meteor to destroy Midgar to save the planet

this is sort of off topic, but oh well. you can learn how to make your own at the amateur sig makers club (i think,ask someone else if i am wrong) or you can go to the Avatar and Signature workshop #2 and ask someone to make you a sig or avatar.you just tell them how you want it or provide them a picture and they can pretty much do anything you want.but be sure to ask nicely!

I think Cloud is right, but why didn't he kill everyone else as well? They were all right there! I think he did it to show Cloud how powerless he was (and to piss him off in the process) and to stop Aeris from summoning Holy, although he was a tad bit late. He would've succeeded with his plan if he weren't so arrogant.

Why did Sephiroth killed Aeris? well, to provoke Cloud ...make him suffer...make him see who is the all powerful almighty. That pretty much summon up what I'm saying. Of course it was sad that Aeris died...I didn't even want that...I was yelling and crying and cursing Sephiroth all the way. But then again...I felt sad for Sephiroth too. He was just as confused as Cloud and Aeris was and I guess that's why he turned to the dark side. Still, having Aeris died didn't really solved the problem. I think it was a mistake for her to died.

He also killed her so she can't stop meteor. I too think it was a mistake for her to die! She did not deserve it!

I don't know. It would be better for the character's though. Tifa always needed a girl friend to talk to and that was the only real girlfriend she had! Aerith helped Cloud become more confident and be open with his inner feelings, just like Tifa! I think it would be better off with Aerith alive! I don't think she had to die for the planet, Sephiroth just ambushed her when she was trying to prevent meteor from happening, and Sephiroth of course would've killed anyone interfering. I think it would have been better off with Aerith alive, Yeah!

Um i dont know if she should have or not. I think that there ar reasons for and against her death... maybe if someone like Yuffie or Tifa or someone else died then what would have happened?

Well, its not like if Cait Sith died, it would solve the problem anyway. I just think that letting Aeris be killed didn't solve anything. I mean, Cloud would had still went after Sephiroth, one way or another, even if Aeris wasn't killed. And I think if Aeris had stay, then Cloud would had found himself and not be lost. Basically, it look like the world was going to be destroy anyway. Aeris did played a vital role but they should at least let her come back like she stated in Cloud's dream.

I am and always will be deeply saddened by Aeris' death (so much that I may have the music from when she died played as my funeral march), but I think that without that incredibly emotional element, FFVII would've been half of what it is. I may have still completed the game, but when Aeris died, I couldn't wait to get my hands on Sephiroth for his sin. I was emotionally grafted to all the characters in the game, and that has never changed.

Oh, please don't misunderstand me, I think Sephiroth is the greatest villan of all time. He kicks ass and has a huge sword (no metaphors there, thank you)! Plus, he has the most awesome theme ever. I only hate him when I play FFVII, but when I'm not playing, he's almost my role-model! If you ever see a white-haired, red-eyed freak walking around someday, chances are, it might be me. Well yeah, I could accept that, but this was only for the Japanese version for those two things, but they got cut and left out in the American version because they rushed the game to get released.

Yes, I heard that with the 4 discs, right after FF VII came out. I�ve never seen the Japanese version, so that means, I can�t say if this is true. But I heard, they have 4 discs because the original game had a lot of more scenes in it ..... :(

i dont get it.
its not just aeris.
all the final fantasys end sadly. (actualy i havnt finished 7 yet)
to think of it the base story line of all the FF (exept X-2 which is too joggy) are sad-romantic with a little humor twist.
i dont say that bad - the matter of fact i like it.
i thinks its good to have a sad ending that u can simpfy with the characters emotions.

and besides, its good to cry sometimes...

You know, I don't think that this thread is that great altogether. I've heard it all before, yes, you are sad that Aeris died, yes, I've heard all the rumours about reviving her, and so on...

I don't think she's a sick person, I think she just like's the coupling Cloud and Tifa better and wants them to be together. I wouldn't laugh at Aerith's death though. At least she didn't crack up out loud and laughed just a tiny bit. I think she like's Cloud and Tifa as a coupling better and wants them to be together. I could just understand that part of it.

Well, all I have to say is, even if people like Tifa more than Aeris, nobody should laugh at her death. :(

All she wanted, was to have a good life, too. She wanted friends and wanted to be loved. And, of course, peace for the world.

She was not a mean person and didn�t deserve to die! :sad:

i've seen death too many times!
a very close friend of mine killed in action, is squad was ambushed by terrorist and now he is burried in my villige cemetery. do you even realise what it means to die before the age of 20 ?! so i think NO one deserves death and NO one should laugh about it either!

I agree! And I think, death isn�t funny! There�s no reason to laugh about. Not on the game and definitely not in real life! :(

i think death is a sad thing, when i was in the army i've seen death to much for a lifetime, but that what keeps me going on, to know that everything can stop in a moment, we need to live our lives without fear, cause death can hit you anywhere! so i say, dont laugh about it, but dont be afraid neither!
that what i love in FF games, the saddnes, so once in a while i can let it all out, and let the emontions burst!

You're right, no one should laugh at death! There's no excuse for that! It is just a game though and just a fictional character. Of course, I wouldn't ever ever laugh in real life. I loved Aerith's character and she was a great person! She never deserved to die! I don't know how it would be for fictional characters I really hate, but I don't think I would laugh too much. If it was someone killing hundreds and hundreds of people like Seymour that would be different. I'm probably just saying this because here in America if a fugative has killed enough people, they are sentences to death. But if it was a goodguy character I really hate, I would probably think "they did not deserve that"! Some people may just say, "oh it's a game you can laugh if you want to". Some people may not see characters like us, but I would never laugh at anyones death, even on any fictional character! Aerith deserves more respect than that.

Yep, that�s how I see it, too. Death is just not funny. Ok, if a mean person dies, it�s a different feeling about it, but still, nothing to laugh at. :(

Why did they kill off Aeris? I was mad not sad when she died. I used her up to that point and you don't just kill the character with the best limits in the game!!

I got the most out of Aerith too! I love her limits too!

Aeris' limits are awesome!! And I agree with what you said about square giving her the best limits. My heart just stopped when I saw what Sephiroth did to her. I started to cry a lot, and a friend of mine was over at me house. But I was so shocked and very sad.

Yeah, I read about something like that at the internet before. They said, some (or one) of the Square members had lost a lovely person. And this person was so much in pain, that he planned on something, what makes a lot of people cry. They just wanted to create a lovely, nice person that everbody loves (Aeris). i hope it's not true, i think it's a crual thing to do.
there are other ways to share pain and loss of someone dear.
