How does Vivi make babies? If he's the same species as Zidane's people (forget what they're called) then they've got girls (do excuse me if I've inturpreted the story wrong). But if they're not then how does Vivi make babies? Hmm maybe he's got both bits... then they've all got both bits... you know when Vivi goes off by himself in the first time in the black mage village... hmm... maybe he was playing with the other black mages... maybe one of them has a fetish for small mages...

Vivi isn't the same species as Zidane. Vivi is a Black Mage, Zidane a Genome.
Black Mages are produced using the Mist. It's possible that the Black Mages have found a way to reproduce that doesn't require mist, or they've used up what was still left of it in the world.
So... I doubt Vivi's kids are really his kids in a biological sense. But that doesn't even matter. The symbolic meaning of Vivi having kids is probably that even those creatures meant to be weapons and meant to destroy, have found a way to create life, in a way, the opposite of what they'd intended to be.

I don't think the mages reproduce sexually. They're produced with machines and mist.

Well seeing as he's 9 years old in- game, it'd have to be a helluva long pause for it to be even close to a credible or proper age for him to have children in the first place.

As Misao said, the probable meaning is that the Black Mages, who were meant to destroy, have created life instead.

well, when two black mages start dating and really like eachother things may happen. a little feel up action or maybe some finger walking. but after awhile, when they're in love and want to make a baby, this is what they do

get a pencil and something to write on.


first they will remove their cloaks, or if the girl is hideous, she just lifts hers up a bit.

then the male black mage will enter the girl black mage

note:: no fourplay is needed. it's a waste of time.

then the male black mage does his thing for awhile and then finally shoots a blast of Bio and doom out into the female.

note:: Bio makes the girl feel all dirty cause she knows he's a pimp black mage, and doom is used cause the guy is fucked cause he just got his chick preggy.

i dont think thats the case cuz if you look closely at the end there are 2 older black mages (one obviously vivi) that are both alive. assuming that they are the parents, they couldn't have done it like bees or whatever cuz theyre both alive

I don't think Vivi reproduced in the sense of the word, but he was one of the first who learnt to come to term with life and with death, therefore he would be a sort of father figure with the rest of the mages that are walking around. Maybe the relationship is more of a respectful term rather than a genuine relationship?

so then maybe, those mages are just tryng to pay respect to Vivi by dressing like him? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
