They are two completely different characters.

One is a down to earth rebel, who ends up swept into the thick of things and gets blessed with a power that she does not fully understand against her will, but does her best to ultimately secure victory for the man she loves.

The other is a high born, noble princess who does not understand how the real world operates and who spends a lot of the game unsure on who she really is, and how sheltered her life is.

So no. They're no where near the same. :)

Well, no matter what, people will keep on asking this question as long as there are female characters in Final Fantasy. :P
People take a look at the characters, notice that "Hey, she is female... like Rinoa. Hey, she has dark blone to brown hair... like Rinoa!"
But their personalities are different. No one cares about this, though, or so it seems. T_T

I think Cait Sith and Tidus are the same chacacter they both sound the same when then talk or they would if 7 had voice actors

No, they do vaguely look alike though. But she also looks like Tifa! There's alot of FF characters that can look alike. Yuna looks like Selphie while Zell looks like Cloud. Laguna looks like Vincent, and Elena of the Turks looks like Aya Brea.

They don't look alike ffs in 7 they all look like lego men and it's just the brown hair, buy some glasses. Garnet is the best character (after Auron, just a little arogance but he deserves it because he pulls it off so well) in all of FF and ff10 = sucks (accept Auron).

What do you mean? Garnet looks like Tifa because they both have the loose ponytail, and Garnet's face looks almost like Rinoa's. What's tbh? And yes I have played these games.

I know Cloud is supposed to look like Shu-yin, but I still think he's cuter than Shu-yin. I don't know, some of the girls do look alike, Garnet, I think looks like a mixture of Tifa and Rinoa. Yuna looks kind of like Selphie. Elena of the Turks looks like Aya Brea. Garnet with her short hair reminds me of Aki Ross.

It's pretty interesting how Squarsoft makes alot of look alikes.

That would probably be because Square leans towards one type of woman, through there games they try to create the perfect female heroine... Sometimes they suceed, sometimes they don't.
But they seem to prefer dark haired woman over fair... Except 6 when they went for a strange green and then blond... Confusing.

Rinoa is an energetic girl who openly displays her effections for Squall, who continuosly shoots her down until he finally gives into his own feelings.

Garnet/Dagger is hiding her feelings for Zidane because she doesn't know what will happen since she's never really had a chance to connect with anybody. She rather keep her true feelings bottled up until she knows that she'll get a response.

well when it comes to physical yes garnet is a ripoff of Rinoa but Rinoa is like physically almost Tifa and personality wise she's like Aeris, and i'm through.
