I heard from magz that GF's are gonna b back in, is this true?

Well, maybe when they say that GF's will be back, that could be what the summons are going to be called in FFXII.

What about those totem-things in FFTA? They're going to be in FF XII. I don't have FFTA, but aren't those totem whatevers (Ultima, etc) like summons? I wonder how they'll work in FF XII.

Totemas aren't summons (in a sense). They just do a lot of damage when you have 10 Job Points on a unit

Uh... GF's were summons, weren't they? lol So they have been back in every game. Like in X, they are Aeons. Aren't they the same thing basically? They are summons. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.)

Yeah they need at least some form of summon in them. i didnt really like FFX-2 because they had absoulutly no summons and that kinda sucked but they better have Shiva, Ifirit and Bahamut in it. They are classic summons who deserve to be in EVERY Final Fantasy.

hope fully its like ff8 where you you have to go searching for Gf's (summons) but when you call them its like ffX

There all similar, and have similar characteristics.
Espers can only be summoned once in any one battle
GF's learn abilities and have a HP bar and Level
Summons just come out and do an attack.
Square just carries the general idea on i think...

If there are summons i hope they're like in FF7 and FF9 because I like to play with the charaters it's far more entertaining

Maybe it'll adopt the whole avatar thing from FFXI where when you summon something, it'll act like a member of your party and attack with you.

Well, there were Aeons in X-2, you just couldn't summon them. It wouldn't have made much sense after then end of X if you had been able to. I was glad they were at least part of the storyline.

I'd like to see something like in XI as well. As for summons I'd like to see? Garuda and Ixion would be nice, in addition to the classics. I'd like to see something new summons too. ^^

I believe, FF-X-2 was just an exception (well, I hope so)... ;)

I really liked summons and they should have included them in FFX-2, what you say Aerith.

Yeah right, summons in FFX-2, would have been one way to make the story not make sense anymore. Bah.
