This was a very controversial film in its day. The Vatican did not get a kick out of this any more than they did The Da Vinci Code. Where the later was silly nonsense, this struck the reality of the church and its failings.... and an unwelcome solution.

Going back through this thread,on page 1 Erich provided a link to the soundtrack album release,which I don't possess and I thank him a whole bunch for it.

IMHO this is an OK film but the real star is the brilliant score by Alex North,which I think could easily crack into the top 100 movie scores of all time. Just my 2 cents worth of opinion.
