As there isn't space to place a enough number of spheres for characters to gain all of each maximum status, you have to choose which status you want to upgrade.

HP is quiet important.
MP is too, but since there is the ability called " MP Cost 1" you can say it's not that important.
Strength and Agility: They are necessary to upgrade because they enable you to damage a lot and have many turns.
Magic: Depends on your character, but it's really usefull.
Defence and Magic Defence: Without them, you can die easily.

The question is about Luck, Evasion and Accuracy.

I've heard something like Luck can substitute for Evasion and Accuracy, besides itself works as the possibility that you can steal or something else.
If this is true, you can save a lot of space on the sphere grid.
Does anyone know about truth? If so, please tell me.

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I don't compromise. You can get 255 for all the stats and still get good HP if you do it right.

Yes, but if you want 99999 for HP, it's impossible that you get 255 for all status.

By the way, are you using ultimate weapons for every characters or the weapons customised by yourself?Cause I don't think some of them are perfect.

To maximize your stats...

You will first have to buy a TON of clear nodes, which cost 10,000 gil each.
Then, go onto the sphere grid.
Clear out every lesser stat, such as +1, +2, and +3 for strength, defense, agility, etc.
Then, clear out every HP node that only grants +200.
Clear out every MP node that grants only +10 or +20.

After all this clearing of lesser nodes, you should have about 90% of your sphere grid empty, except for the 10% which would consists of +4 to str. def. agi. etc, +300 to HP, and +40 to MP.

Just make sure that the only nodes you have on the sphere grid give you the maximum stat raise for a particular area. You cannot erase magic nodes, skill nodes, etc. Also, use Key Spheres to get rid of all Lvl.1 locks, Lvl.2 locks, Lvl.3 locks, and Lvl.4 locks.

Next, you will have to spend A LOT of time fighting monsters from the Battle Arena. Try to get all creations, as it will help in the next step.

Fight these specific monsters to get there respected nodes for the Sphere Grid:

Species Creations:

1. Fenrir-Agility Sphere (x2) +4 for each of these Agility spheres
2. Pteryx-Evasion Sphere +4
3. Hornet-Accuracy Sphere +4
4. Vidatu-MP Sphere +40
5. One-Eye-Magic Defense Sphere (x2) +4 for each of these Mag.Def.Spheres
6. Jumbo Flan-Magic Sphere +4
7. Tanket-Defense Sphere (x2) +4 for each of these defense spheres
8. Juggernaut-Strength Sphere (x2) +4 for each of these strength spheres
9. Ironclad-HP Sphere (x2) +300 for each of these HP Spheres

Original Creations:

1. Earth Eater-Fortune Sphere (x2) Activates Luck nodes
2. Greater Sphere-Luck Sphere (x2) +4 to each of these luck nodes. Cannot be activated without Fortune Spheres

HP Limit: 99,999
MP Limit: 9,999
Strength Limit: 255
Defense Limit: 255
Agility Limit: 255
Evasion Limit: 255
Accuracy Limit: 255
Magic Defense Limit: 255
Magic Limit: 255
Luck Limit: 255

I don't think you can fully maximize each one of these ten stats. I would maximize Strength, Defense, Magic Defense, and then Agility. These would be the first four I would make sure to maximize. Then, bring your HP up to 40,000. After that, it's just a matter of preference to what you would do next with your remaining empty sphere nodes. But this is just what I would do.

Yes, that's why I wondered if you can use Luck as substitute for Evasion and Accuracy.Smokey, you seem to know a lot about FF 10, have you ever heard of it?

I guess, unless you're using the Expert Sphere Grid in the Interational version, then maybe you could. I don't know, since I don't have that and unfortunately probably never will.

In any case, no, I don't want 99999 HP. I find that absolutely pointless - I'd much rather have all other stats maxed. The HP doesn't even really matter once you've got killer evasion and defense.

MP Limit: 9,999
Totally pointless. I find Break MP Limit even more of a waste than 99999 HP. If you're worried about MP, there's a little ability to look into called "0 MP Cost."

I am using the Ultimate/Celstial Weapons for all of the characters except Kimahri because the butterfly challenge sucks. And before you start, I should note that the Celestial Weapons all have a secret bonus that makes it a lot more likely the characters will hit for max damage as opposed to if you customize a weapon for them with the same or similar attributes.

Oh right. That's what I thought.

Ummm...actually, I don't think that Luck substitutes for either of those. I think that Luck determines your critical hit rate.

Do you know the ability called " Luck " that you can use in the battle field.
The ability belongs to the category "Spcial Ability"
What it can do is raise all characters' Luck as well as Accuracy and Evasion, Doesn't this mean if you get lots of Luck( I mean on the character status originary) the possibility that you can hit and avoid gets higher?

I think this happens because it works in Japanese version but I just wonder if it happens in international version or not, cause thing is they change the system often when they make some international version.

I went through somewebsites searching for the information but I couldn't find which means most people don't know about this.
