In Search of... is a television series that was broadcast weekly from 1977 to 1982, devoted to mysterious phenomena. It was created after the success of three one-hour TV documentaries produced by creator Alan Landsburg: In Search of Ancient Astronauts in 1973 (based on the book Chariots of the Gods? by Erich von Dniken), In Search of Ancient Mysteries and The Outer Space Connection, both in 1975 (later adapted into popular paperbacks written by Landsburg). All three featured narration by Rod Serling, who was the initial choice to host the spin-off show. After Serling's death, Leonard Nimoy was selected to be the host.

The production values were fairly typical of the period, with interviews, reenactments and scenic footage shot on film, all voiced over by Nimoy. The style was often more expository than explanatory. The music was composed by Laurin M. Rinder and W. Michael Lewis. A soundtrack album was released on AVI (American Variety International) Records in 1977.

Here is the information on the soundtrack, I've never been able to locate it...
Release catalog number AVL 6008 by American Variety International Records Distributing Corp. 9220 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, California 90069.

***Note: I have heard the score samples off of youtube that have a very "Disco" quality to them. I'm looking for the actual score from the show itself.

I had it, about 4 or 5 months ago, but deleted it. I didn't really care for it. But, I had it posted here and some may have grabbed it. Ask Sorei or Bishtyboshty, they grab a lot of stuff. Also perhaps Stereoelf....I know a number of members downloaded it before the link died. I suggest also asking in the Hunt thread.

Thanks Amanda, the collection you had...Were those those crappy disco ones that were originally released?

I don't remember. They were from an old record release, I think. I did not give it much time. I have little space, so when I get around to listening something, and it doesn't grab me, I toss it.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The ones I have are only a spackling and then there is nothing but disco music on the rest. Truly horrible. That being said, I do have the entire series on DVD, so perhaps I can extract it somehow.

No luck in extracting this score from the DVDs. Hopefully someday they'll release the score (oh God how that disco mix sucks).

Still no one who can share this score with us?

Just had to remember the series and the music, because of the late Leonard Nimoy.
It was a nice series with partly very good music.
And the album was just fun (i allways likeed the disco-arrangments!

So please, someone should post it here again ;-)
